Aiko Melendez undergoes drug test
22 Oct – Aiko Melendez recently made the initiative to get herself checked for drug use, and revealed the results on social media.
As reported on Push, on 19 October the actress posted a photo of her drug test report, which revealed that she tested negative for both methamphetamine and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).
She wrote, "I wanted to set an example to other actors. Well, the sad truth is [I] am in [an] industry where drugs are rampant. Thank God the government has done many things to prevent us from bad habits."
"Get high with God and not drugs," she added.
Netizens who saw the post sang praises for Melendez, with many expressing their wish that other actors would follow suit.
It is noted that many of Philippine's stars went for a drug test two years ago in response to Duterte Administration's war on drugs.
