Ahmad Idham reveals reason behind casting choices for "Reeza GTR"

3 Oct - Ahmad Idham recently admitted that things are not how they were in the past, and thus he has to hire well-known actors to play the leads in his new movie, "Reeza GTR".

The filmmaker, who spoke about his decision to cast actors Alif Satar and Sophia Albarakbah in the movie, said that he wanted actors who are "climbing the success ladder" as he wanted his movie to be the best.

"Sophia was last year's ABPBH winner and Alif has a good track record in the industry. The star power of the actors is important since that seems to be the trend now," he said.

Idham admitted that he was worried that his movie will be considered a low budget film if he took on new and unknown actors.

"In the past, I was the one who introduced actors like Yana Samsudin, Shaheizy Sam, Pierre Andre and Farid Kamil. They were new then, but they were able to break box office records because the audience then valued talents over popularity. But it's different now. You have to have a big name in order to attract people to watch your movie," he said.

In "Reeza GTR", Alif plays the role of Reeza, a towing auction store workshop worker who finds a beautiful woman named Myra (Sophia) hiding inside one of the towed cars.
