Adriana Lima 'honoured' to be named most valuable Victoria's Secret angel
She’s gorgeous, she’s sexy and she was recently named Victoria’s Secret’s most valuable angel. But despite having been given that title, celebrity model Adriana Lima remains amazed that she has come so far.
The 35-year-old Brazilian model spoke to Yahoo Lifestyle Singapore after a media event on Friday (10 March), during which she said, “I feel honoured to be named one of the most valuable Victoria’s Secret angels. I thank everyone, number one being my fans for all the support throughout the years, because without your support, I would not achieve so much.”
“It’s like I’m still living a dream. I never thought I would be here. Thank you with all my heart,” she said.
In January, American analytics company D’Marie named Lima the most valuable Victoria’s Secret angel based on a research that factored in social media likes, among others.
The veteran angel of 17 years of experience arrived at the Victoria’s Secret flagship outlet in Mandarin Gallery dressed in a body-hugging mid-length white dress, wowing the press with her athletic physique.
After showing off cute poses to the media and browsing through the new additions to the Body by Victoria collection, she spared some time for a chat with us.
Having walked the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show since 1999, Lima shares her thoughts on how the shows have evolved.
“These days over 180 countries watch the Victoria’s Secret fashion show. It’s not only just a regular catwalk now,” she said.
The Brazilian model likens the magnitude of the iconic lingerie shows to the major Christmas festivities back in her home country. She said, “We have performances, we have musicians and models on the runway so it’s a huge entertainment… It’s completely different from any other show.”
The new additions to the Body by Victoria collection feature three new styles: the Flutter Bralette, Unlined Demi and Triangle Underwire Bralette in warm and sandy neutrals mixed with pops of green and blue.
Lima’s favourite in the new collection? The bralette.
“What I love is that it’s something casual, but you can still feel special and sexy in it,” the model said.
