Designed with ambitious trail runners in mind, the shoe includes Gore-Tex’s Invisible Fit technology, which includes a waterproof membrane that keeps water out of the shoe and blocks wind. Additionally, a collar described as sock-like is meant to keep feet dry and debris outside the shoe.

More features include the Continental rubber outsole, which is designed with 4 millimeter and 5 millimeter lugs to create a reliable grip even in the wettest environments. Furthermore, the Agravic Gore-Tex utilizes the Lightstrike foam midsole previously incorporated in the Agravic 3, making for a cushioned and dynamic experience that can withstand the impact of running on trails.

“With the winterized edition of the Agravic, we wanted to create a shoe that enables trail runners to enjoy the feeling of running fast on trails, no matter the weather,” Carla Murphy, senior vice president and global general manager at Adidas Terrex, said in a statement. “From waterproof Gore-Tex technology to a midsole built to deliver a cushioned, protective and dynamic ride, every detail is crafted to let runners focus on the thrill of speed and exploration, no matter the conditions.”

Adidas Terrex athlete Petter Engdahl also commented on the new shoe.

“Training in the Norwegian mountains can throw all kinds of conditions at you,” Engdahl said in a statement. “So, when I’m lacing up for a training session, it’s crucial to have footwear that can handle the elements. The Agravic Gore-Tex is my go-to shoe for those unpredictable days — it provides the grip and protection I need to keep pushing, regardless of the terrain.”

The Agravic Gore-Tex will accompany the existing lineup of speed-focused trail running shoes including the Agravic Speed Ultra, the Agravic Speed and the Agravic 3, all of which will get a new colorway this season.

Last year, Adidas Terrex released a hiking sandal, the Hydoterra AT style. The outdoor-focused Adidas imprint also collaborated with National Geographic in 2024 to create a hiking collection taking inspiration from photos of the rainforest.
