Ada Pong wants to be a top star

9 Sep - She may have lost the Miss Hong Kong title to former classmate Louisa Mak, but first runner-up Ada Pong believes that she has her own specialty that the brainy Miss Hong Kong doesn't possess.

In an interview with Hong Kong Sina recently, the 23-year-old, who majored in classical singing from the Manhattan School of Music, said that she hopes to one day become a famous singer, not unlike the Hong Kong diva, GEM Tang.

However, the former Hollister assistant shop manager will not let that be her one and only goal in showbiz, as Ada also aspires to become a good actress, having signed a contract with TVB.

As for losing the title to Louisa, Ada stated that she has no qualms about it, since it also meant that she doesn't need to prepare herself for the upcoming Miss Chinese International Pageant.

"I am happier that I get to be friends with the other girls. I never thought that I will be able to have this opportunity," she said.

When asked the difference between her and her Diocesan Girls' School classmate, Ada replied, "I am more direct about my feelings. I admitted to my relationship with my boyfriend to give him the sense of security, so that other pursuers and fans will know that I am already in a relationship."
