SINGAPORE – Actress-model Sheila Sim said on her Instagram that she is expecting a baby girl, in an announcement on her Instagram today (27 April).
In her Instagram post, Sim said, “We've been hiding a secret... After two beautiful years of marriage with my confidante, my best friend, my soulmate, my partner-in-crime, our hearts are swelled with love and joy to share that our family is growing!”
Based on one of the hashtags in Sim’s post, #16weeks5days, the 35-year-old actress is four months pregnant.
Saying that they had kept the pregnancy “very low-profile so far”, Sim gave thanks to her husband, banker Deon Woo: “First and foremost, big kiss and hug to my husband who's been so emotionally and physically supportive every step of the way. I am so blessed to be your wife and now, the mother of your child.”
The couple posted an accompanying picture in their Instagram post of Sheila and Woo, his face shielded by a cap, cradling an animal soft toy wearing a pink lacy dress.
Sim hinted that the baby is a girl, as she added a postscript at the end of her Instagram post which said, “PS: Gender reveal is the photo!”
Sim is one of Singapore’s top models and has acted in Channel 8 dramas such as 118 and Reach For The Skies.
