For many, it's a dream to be able to purchase their childhood home. Actor Joshua Jackson made that exact dream a reality 20 years ago when he purchased the Topanga, California home he grew up in as a child. The former Dawson's Creek star, who is married to actress Jodie Turner-Smith, now lives in the home with his wife and 15-month-old daughter, Janie. His daughter even sleeps in his childhood bedroom.

Although it's unclear when exactly Jackson moved into his Topanga home, he and his ex Diane Kruger did sell their West Hollywood home in 2017.

While speaking with Mr Porter, Jackson revealed that it was "healing" being able to purchase his childhood home.

“My father unfortunately was not a good father or a husband and exited the scene, but that house in Topanga was where everything felt simple, so it was a very healing thing for me to do,” he shared during the interview.

Surprisingly, when the actor purchased the home back in 2001, a memento from his time in the house was still there.

“There was a mural of a dragon on the wall in that room that I couldn’t believe was still there, years later," Jackson said. "The owner [who sold him the house] said, ‘I knew it meant a lot to somebody and that they were going to come back for it some day.’”
