ABC Exec Rob Mills Explains Why “Queen” Victoria Larson Was Put on ‘The Bachelor’

From Cosmopolitan

We’re pretty much nowhere close to the end of Matt James’s season of The Bachelor, but there is one contestant who fans already want off the show: “Queen” Victoria Larson. Some fans even refuse to accept that Victoria made it onto the show with her personality alone and are convinced she was planted by the show‘s producers for the sole purpose of stirring up drama in the house. Thankfully, ABC exec Rob Mills is here with some words about that!

In an interview with Variety, Rob lowkey confirmed that Victoria made it onto the show because of her strong personality, which set her apart from other women who auditioned.

“You can’t have people who are not going to do really anything and will just be wallflowers,” he said. “I’m not saying the show is made purely to stir up drama, but certainly a strong personality like [Victoria] is good. And look, Matt has said that is something that he is attracted to—a woman who is her own woman and who is strong-willed—so you can’t argue that Victoria is not that.”

And as for those “Victoria is a plant” allegations...yeah, Rob’s standing by the casting choice and said he and the rest of the producers only chose women they could see Matt having a future with—Victoria included.

“[Victoria] is somebody who was great in casting and certainly had a point of view that was interesting. Obviously, nobody is mad that Matt is keeping her around, but at a certain point, if he really doesn’t see a future with her, he will send her home,” he added. “I don’t think there is anybody that Victoria is taking the place of that Matt would say, ‘Oh my gosh, my future wife just walked out the door.’ Although, I know how sad people were to see the ballerina go home night one.”

Short answer: Prepare to see more of Victoria throughout the rest of the season whether you like it or not, hun!
