Abby Abadi wants daughter to register marriage in Malaysia

18 Mar - Confirming that her daughter is now married to Mohd Aslam, Abby Abadi is saying that she will accept the marriage provided that the couple register their marriage in Malaysia as soon as possible.

The actress, who sat down for an interview recently, stated that 18-year-old daughter Marissa did marry Aslam in Thailand, and that she has the marriage certificate in her hand.

"I want them to register their marriage here and make it valid, as we are living in Malaysia. I am worried about the validity of the ceremony in Thailand, and that is why I want them to register here," she said.

Abby also said that the elopement came as a surprise to her and ex-husband Norman Hakim as she only found out about it when Norman watched the CCTV at his house.

"He saw a female friend of Marrisa's was at the house. Only then we found out that she has already left for Thailand. The friend was there so that nobody would know that she wasn't in her room. It was unfathomable," she said.

Abby said that as a mother, she really didn't want such a thing to happen. However, she has no other way but to accept what had happened.

Marissa made headlines recently after Aslam's sister-in-law told the media that the two of them have eloped to Songkhla in southern Thailand to marry while Aslam's wife Misya Mazlan was performing her umrah.
