Aaron Kwok "angpao" interview goes viral
23 Feb – An old clip of Aaron Kwok's interview got netizens talking recently, as it revealed the superstar's promise that he would give red packets to all citizens of Hong Kong when he gets married.
As reported on Epoch Times, TVB recently scoped out Aaron's interview while he was promoting a movie during the Lunar New Year 2014, where he could be seen talking to entertainment host, Samantha Chuk about the tradition of giving red packet.
He said that only a married man would give out red packets, and added that he will give out red packets to everybody, the citizens of Hong Kong, when he's married.
He is now married to Chinese model Moka Fang.
Netizens who saw the clip had since took to the singer's social media account to leave funny comments about the promise.
"Hong Kong people are waiting for your red packets!," said one.
"Aaron Kwok may be counting his money right now. We are ready to queue up to receive the red packets," said another.
On the other hand, some even calculated the amount that Aaron may lose from giving out red packets to the Hong Kong people.
"There are nearly 8 million people in Hong Kong. If he gives out HKD 10 per person, he needs to spend HKD 80 million. If it's HKD 50, he'll go bankrupt soon!"
Meanwhile, Samantha, who interviewed Aaron at the time, laughed when asked about the clip that has now gone viral.
"If you see Aaron in the city, notify me. I will fly to the scene and discuss about the red packets with him," she joked.
