Aaron Kwok has always been supportive of new filmmakers

14 Jun – Although this would be the first time he participated in the Fresh Wave International Short Film Festival, Hong Kong superstar Aaron Kwok admitted that he has always been supportive of Hong Kong's new filmmakers.

As reported on Mingpao, the actor, who attended the opening ceremony of the festival's 13th edition, shared that he has already worked with more than ten new directors throughout his career, including Philip Yung ("Port of Call"), and Roy Chow ("Murderer").

He also shot newcomer Danny Wong's movie, "I'm Livin It" with Miriam Yeung in late 2018.

"I didn't even expect I would win an award by working with a new director [like Philip Yung]. These new filmmakers really have something great. Perhaps it is because they are still fresh and have more creativity," he said.

Asked if he is willing to reduce his price for new filmmakers, Aaron said that he has no issues doing so.

"I would gladly make accommodations on certain conditions," he said, adding that he would let his manager do all the negotiations.
