A24's latest offering sees the production company getting back to its cool-hued indie-aestheticized bag. In its forthcoming film entitled I Saw The TV Glow, Justice Smith and Bridgette Lundy-Paine – Owen and Maddy, respectively – connect over their adoration for The Pink Opaque horror TV show.

Like in most A24 stories, reality and fiction become blurred in the Jane Schroenbrun-led film, making for an unpredictable and unsettling viewing experience.

As the film's official logline reads: "Teenager Owen is just trying to make it through life in the suburbs when his classmate introduces him to a mysterious late-night TV show — a vision of a supernatural world beneath their own. In the pale glow of the television, Owen’s view of reality begins to crack."

"Each episode they help each other fight a new monster from across the county. But its way too scary for most kids," Maddy says of The Pink Opaque. "Sometimes The Pink Opaque feels more real than real life."

The Alex G-helmed soundtrack is set to feature tracks from Caroline Polachek, yeule, Sloppy Jane and more.

I Saw The TV Glow also stars Ian Foreman, Helena Howard, Fred Durst and Danielle Deadwyler, and lands in theaters on May 3, 2024. The film initially premiered at this year's Sundance Film Festival.
