Boyfriend jeans have had their moment. Skinniesare back (but really, did they ever go out of style?) and it’s clearwhy: They look good on everyone, go with everything [TK LINK TO AEO “8Genius Ways to Style Your Jeans This Weekend"ARTICLE] and, if you get the right fit, can be as comfy as leggings (yetstill office-appropriate).

But finding a pair that’s perfectly suited toyour body can be tricky – it’s easy to fall into the too-tight, muffin-top or flat-buttzone. Here are six ways to make sure your skinnies fit like a glove.

Opt for a high waist.

Test the zipper. [INSERT IMAGE FROM CUSTOM SHOOT]Make sure it goes up all the way to the button closure andhas a strong grip, so it doesn’t slip down when you move. Otherwise, you mightflash your lady bits at an inopportune time – say, when you’re about to give apresentation to your boss.

Show some ankle – but not too much.

Your jeans should hit right above the ankle crease so they workwith both heels and sneakers. Excess fabric at the bottom can look sloppy, andtoo-short jeans can make your legs look shorter or thicker than they actuallyare.

Choose extra leg room.[INSERT IMAGE FROM CUSTOM SHOOT]If youcan’t easily pull your skinnies over your calves or thighs, go up one size. Yourjeans should fit snugly against your skin, but you should also be able to dobasic things like go to the bathroom without maneuvering like a gymnast.

Do a butt check. [INSERT IMAGE FROM CUSTOM SHOOT]The back pocketsshould sit squarely without pulling or showing the pocket lining. For a visual bootylift, choose a pair with pockets that are set higher and closer together – wide, saggy pockets will make your derrier look just that: wide and saggy.

Say "no” to camel toe. You’ll thank us later.
