By Alyssa Chung

They’re not the healthiest of foods but you can’t deny that a man likes a big juicy burger once in a while. This Father’s Day, here are six places to treat your dad by allowing him to sink his teeth into one of these whoppers.

Black Tap

Black Tap at Marina Bay Sands is serving a burger and beer combo this Father’s Day weekend (15 and 16 June). Enjoy the Boss Burger ($33) comprising a lip-smacking double bacon cheeseburger, with lettuce, tomato, pickles, American cheese, and special sauce with a pint of Kona Longboard Lager. Top it off with the new Churro Choco Taco Shake ($22) which comes in a tall glass drizzled with caramelised dulce de leche sauce and rimmed with vanilla frosting and cinnamon toast crunch. The toast crunch and dulce are also blended into a classic vanilla ice cream base. And for even more indulgence, the shake is crowned with a choco taco and two crispy fried churros.

Fatburger

Fatburger Singapore is the first international outlet of this fast-casual chain to debut their customisable Impossible Burger ($10.90) consisting of delicious plant-based patties that taste just like meat. After it is cooked, this meatless “meat” product is made to taste and smell just like meat. Plus it contains no gluten, animal hormones and antibiotics. The Impossible Burger is also halal-certified and kosher. What’s great is that you can have each burger cooked to order. Your burger patty can then be accompanied with a choice of fresh ingredients including pickles, tomatoes, lettuce, onions, relish and mayo, snugly sandwiched between toasted brioche buns.

Butcher’s Kitchen’s four keto burgers: Keto Beef Burger ($18.80), Keto Roast Pork Burger ($17.80), Keto Pork Burger ($16.80) and Keto Chicken Burger ($13.80).

The Butcher’s Kitchen

The Butcher’s Kitchen at Suntec City Mall, and Seriously Keto, Singapore’s first wholly ketogenic bakery, have collaborated to launch the first ever keto-compliant gourmet burgers. The whole KetoBurger has zero sugar, and is gluten-free, diabetic-friendly and ultra-low in carbohydrates. The buns, sauces and patties are all specially created using fully ketogenic recipes. To make the juicy patties, the highest quality grass- and grain-fed meats imported from Australia and Japan are used. These antibiotic- and hormone-growth-promotant-free meat patties are grilled and sandwiched between Seriously Keto’s freshly baked KetoBuns made with egg-white, almond flour, onion powder, apple cider vinegar and unsalted butter.

The Butcher’s Kitchen’s lunch and dinner menu feature four different types of meaty burgers: Keto Beef Burger ($18.80), Keto Roast Pork Burger ($17.80), Keto Pork Burger ($16.80) and Keto Chicken Burger ($13.80). Each meat patty is glazed with mustard sauce and topped with lettuce, tomato and cheese. All burgers come with a side of greens (fresh cherry tomatoes, zucchinis, asparagus, lettuce or cauliflower).

Burger & Lobster

If Shake Shack’s snaking queues are too much of an effort for you, then why not try the new Burger & Lobster eatery at Jewel Changi Airport. Located at Canopy Park, Jewel’s topmost floor, diners will be treated to dazzling views of the Rain Vortex. The concept originally from London features burgers using Nebraskan beef patties. For a classic version, go for The Mayfair, which is composed of grilled beef patty with homemade pickles, onion, tomato, signature burger sauce and brioche burger buns. To spice things up, there’s the grilled Nebraskan burger with hot pickles, tomato, spicy mayo and “fire sauce”. Both are priced at $25. Also consider ordering the original lobster roll ($40), filled with chunks of lobster meat tossed in Japanese mayo and scattered with chives. Similar to the UK outlets, fresh, live lobsters are flown in from Nova Scotia, Canada. All these items are served with fries and house salad.

A burger from Wolf Burger.
Wolf Burgers has launched a new menu.

Wolf Burgers

Wolf Burgers recently launched an ambitious yet exciting menu. The brand has elevated its offerings with the Dry-Aged Beef Burger ($17.90) featuring a 30-day Dry-Aged Beef Patty aged using methods inspired by Spains Aged Galacian Beef. The deeply flavourful beef patty is then topped with homemade chipotle mayo, cheese and pickled onions.

Besides the range of beef burgers, Wolf is also offering four new Local Sliders ($10.90). A highlight is the Hainanese Chicken Slider – tender chicken thigh, homemade chilli sauce and achar are sandwiched in between fluffy steamed white buns. Others to try include the Rojak Beef Slider, Sweet and Sour Fish Slider and the Spicy Szechuan Beef Slider. Now diners can also savour both the Impossible and Beyond Meat burgers ($16.90), perfectly paired with a side of healthy corn and broccoli. Have them with the new Fortune Fries ($8) – instead of potatoes, you’ll get deep-fried strips of mantou, topped with homemade sweet and sour sauce, spring onions, chicken floss and diced pineapple.

Relish's Bacon and Beef Cheeseburger.

Relish
If dad prefers a good ol’ classic burger, treat him to Relish at Frasers Tower. The highly satisfying Bacon & Cheese Beef Burger ($15.90) uses a 15-year-old original recipe by Wild Rocket (both brands are owned by top chef Willin Low). The patties feature Australian chuck with a balanced percentage of fat, mixed with herbs and onions. After being grilled, they are topped with crispy bacon and cheddar. The burger buns are baked by a local baker according to the restaurant’s specification. If you prefer other variations, the menu offers the signature Wild Rocket Beef Burger ($15.50) perked up with Sarawak pepper cream, sun-dried tomato relish and arugula, and the Mushroom & Double Cheese ($15.90). Aside from the usual fries, munch on the super sinful but irresistible Spam fries ($3.50) and sweet potato fries ($3).
