4 healthier snacks to enjoy with your football kakis
The football season is under way! Whether you’re supporting Chelsea, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich or any other teams, late nights are becoming more meaningful now with the big games coming up. While some games are played in the wee hours, you shouldn’t be chucking in those unhealthy cup noodles to fill the empty stomach! Our home cook, Susan Chia, has shared with us her 4 healthy dipping sauces that goes well with anything!
This 4 different flavours of sauces by Susan comes with its own unique taste that will surely leave you craving for more. More importantly, these sauces are healthy and easy to make. Try out the recipes below and dive your football-snacks into them now!
Laksa Pesto
No. of servings: 150ml
This sauce goes well with:
Pasta
Nacho
Ingredients
35g laksa leaves
2g chilli padi
½ tsp garlic, minced
100g cashew nuts, roasted
½ tsp salt
1 tbsp fish sauce
65ml olive oil
Preparation Direction
Add in all the ingredients into the chopper and blend the ingredients into a smooth consistency.
Basil Tomato Cashew Dip
No. of servings: 200ml
This sauce goes well with:
Toasted bread
Vegetable sticks – Carrot, Celery
Ingredients
75g cherry tomato
5 fresh basil leaves
100g cashew nuts
50ml olive oil
1 garlic
1 chilli padi
Pinch of salt
1 tsp fish sauce
Preparation Directions
Add in all the ingredients into the chopper and blend the ingredients into a smooth consistency.
Classic Guacamole
No. of servings: 300ml
This sauce goes well with:
Vegetable sticks – Carrot, Celery
Nachos
Ingredients
½ small red onion, peeled
1-2 fresh red chillies, deseed
3 ripe avocados, removed from shell
1 bunch of fresh coriander, roughly chopped
6 ripe cherry tomatoes
1 tbsp lime juice
1 tsp extra virgin olive oil
A pinch seasalt
A pinch black pepper
Preparation Directions
Add in all the ingredients into the chopper and blend the ingredients into a smooth consistency.
Hummus
No. of servings: 150ml
This sauce goes well with:
Toasted bread
Nachos
Ingredients
2 cup drained cooked chickpea, liquid reserved
1/2 cup tahini (sesame paste), optional, with some of its oil
1/4 cup olive oil
2 cloves garlic, peeled
A pinch of falt
A dash of ground black pepper
1 tbsp paprika, or to taste, plus a sprinkling for garnish
Juice of 1 lemon, add more as desire
Preparation Directions
Add in all the ingredients into the chopper and blend the ingredients into a smooth consistency. Add water to give is a better consistency.
Garnish with Paprika and chopped coriander
