Toppings for hot dogs
Dressing up your hot dog doesn’t have to be complicated. You can easily swap the ketchup for other store-bought options like pimento cheese, tzatziki or guacamole. However, if you’re feeling more adventurous, check out these easy-to-make toppings:
Elote hot dog
Charred corn.
Mayonnaise or Greek yogurt.
Lime juice.
Salt and pepper to taste.
Cumin.
Chopped cilantro.
Mix the ingredients, then put it on top of your hotdog. Before you dig in, add a sprinkle of Cotija cheese.
Pineapple salsa hot dog
Premade or store-bought pico de gallo.
Chopped pineapple.
Brush your hotdog with teriyaki sauce before topping it with the pineapple salsa. For an extra delicious dog, caramelize the teriyaki-covered dog on the grill.
Bánh mì hot dog
Lime.
Jalapeños.
Cilantro.
Green onion.
Carrots (pickled carrots can also be used for even more flavor).
Cucumber.
Sesame seeds
Layer the ingredients under, around and on top of the hot dog, then top with a sprinkle of sesame seeds.
Enjoy!
