18 Best Burgers in Singapore So Good, You Won’t Stop At Just Bun
Burgers mean the world to me. There is nothing I could want more than a good burger after a long day of work but I don’t want just any burger, I want a good burger.
So what makes a good burger? There is the meat to fat ratio of ideally 70% meat to 30% fat so its juicy enough. The meat to bun ratio is just as important and you don’t want too much bread with a miserable patty. Diner-styled burgers tend to have a thinner patty whilst pubs and bistros tend to serve chunkier patties.
We’ve also included some vegan burger options as well, in case you want your burger fix without the meat.
Hold on tight buddies, here we go. Here’s my list of the best banging burgers in Singapore with great buns that cannot lie.
18. OverEasy Orchard
Need a good burger after all that shopping? OverEasy is your go-to stop for comfort food. Their diner-styled interior offers a daily dose of nostalgia of the 1970s. OverEasy serves great diner classics with a twist too. Popcorn Chicken with Salted Caramel Popcorn ($16.00), Bourbon Doughnut Holes with Homemade Fudge ($12.00)… But we’re here to talk about burgers right?
The Truffle ($28.00) at OverEasy is a must-try. With melted swiss cheese, sauteed onions and mushrooms and truffle mayo, the Truffle is an unforgettable burger. The wagyu patty has a good amount of wagyu marbly fats. The buns are golden-brown and buttered. The sauteed mushrooms is a unique melange of truffle and shiitake from China and Honshimeji from Korea!
So if you are ever in need of a shopping break, you know where to head to.
OverEasy: 541 Orchard Road, #01-01 Liat Towers, Singapore 238881 | Tel:6684 1453 | Website | Opening Hours: Mon to Fri 11am–12am, Sat to Sun 10am–12am
17. The Black Swan
Situated in the middle of the financial district, the Black Swan is home to Singapore’s CBD working population. From bankers to top-notch executives, the Black Swan is a place for discussion and indulgence for lunch, dinner or supper.
The Black Swan Burger ($32.00) is a thicker burger that will fill you up. Topped with chuck, matured cheddar, sunny side up egg, streaky bacon and accompanied by chunky fries, the Black Swan Burger is great atas grub.
The Black Swan: 19 Cecil Street S049704 | Tel: 6438 3757 | Website | Opening Hours: Mon 11:30am–11pm, Tues to Thurs 11:30am–12am, Fri: 11:30am–1am, Sat 5pm–1am
16. Three Buns @ Potato Head Folk
There’s always a burger party at Thee Buns (Potato Head Folk). Hipster and spacious, Tree Buns or Potato Head Folk is located at Keong Saik Road’s iconic pre-war Tong Ah Kopitiam opened its doors in Singapore in 2014 – its first international outpost.
Known for its loose vibes and casual food, Potato Head Folk is a place for all, especially burger enthusiasts.
The Rambo ($24) is the only lamb burger on the menu and definitely worth your time. The patty, made of lamb, is juicy, succulent and softer than beef. An aubergine pickle and cumin aioli accompanies it too so if you like lamb over beef, this is the choice for you!
If you are up for a challenge, the Burning Man ($24) would be a better choice. Made of 150g of prime beef, jalapeno relish, hot ketchup and dashi mayo, the Burning Man offers nothing less than a burning sensation!
Potato Head Folk: 36 Keong Saik Road Singapore 089143 | Tel: 6327 1939 | Website | Opening Hours: Tues to Sun 11.00am–12.00 midnight
15. Burger Joint
Hidden away in Amoy Street’s Gemmill Lane, Burger Joint Singapore offers you an authentic Big Apple experience without needing to fly to New York (It even plays the same music playlist as Burger Joint New York!). With a large selection of unique craft beers ranging from the Shiga Kogen to the BBN that you can’t get anywhere else in Singapore, what’s stopping you really?
The burgers here aren’t sexy but simplicity is where it’s at. The Cheeseburger ($13.80), medium rare, is slabbed with melted white cheddar cheese, lettuce, B&G kosher dill pickle, Grey Poupon dijon mustard, Heinz Tomato sauce and some fresh onions. Unlike other burger outlets in Singapore, the patties are made from Nebraskan meat.
Burger Joint takes their patties very seriously – the owner, Heaney, knows exactly where the meat is from, when it’s cut, ground and pounded! – and they taste absolutely delicious. Completely made in-house, you will want to bite into your burger again and again. Help yourself to a boozy milkshake while you’re at it too.
Burger Joint: 115 Amoy Street, #01-13 (Entrance at the back at 22 Gemmill Lane) | Tel: 6221 8648 | Website | Opening Hours: Mon to Wed 11am-11pm, Thurs to Sat 11am-12am, Sun 11am-10pm
14. VeganBurg
If you’re looking for a healthier burger or are in any way interested in saving the environment, VeganBurg is just for you. With a 100% plant based menu, VeganBurg has changed the general grubby perception of comfort food. GMO free patty, fibre-loaded buns and fresh vegetables, VeganBurg doesn’t only serve vegan burgers but sustainable ones too.
So what should you order at VeganBurg? The Avocado Beetroot Burger Meal ($13.80)! VeganBurg doesn’t sacrifice taste for nutrition or vice versa. The buttery avocado and beetroot pate and delicious soy is evident of that. Perhaps the only thing VeganBurg could improve is their buns which could be less dry and tough.
If you’re on a paleo diet, there’s a burger just for you too. The Paleo burger ($8.90) is a soy patty enveloped in fresh lettuce and drizzled with mustard. Something I really want to try on my next visit is the Hawaiian Teriyaki ($6.90), the pineapple slice looks so good. You can order them online, have them delivered or picked up as well (how convenient?!).
VeganBurg: 44 Jln Eunos, 419502 | Tel: 6844 6868 | Website | Opening Hours: Mon – Sat 11:00am-10:00pm, Sun 10:30am-10:00pm
13. Fresh Fruits Lab
The Fresh Fruits Lab is a well-known cafe in the East of Singapore. The decor is wonderful and the dishes are unique. Fresh Fruits Lab strikes a balance between novelty and health. You wouldn’t think this would make it to my burger list, eh? After all, Fresh Fruits Lab is usually praised for its brunch but really, the otak sliders ($12) are insanely good!
Although Fresh Fruits Lab doesn’t follow conventional rules of the burger game, it has definitely tickled the Singaporean in me. Anything with otak tastes really good with me but this takes it a notch up. The otak is delicious, juicy and somewhat greasy since the otak patty was fried. The coconut taste was strong and the buns are buttered and toasted – just the way it should be!
Fresh Fruits Lab:351 Changi Rd, 419818 | Website | Tel: 6677 6741 | Opening Hours: Tues – Thurs 11:00AM-10:00PM, Fri 11:00AM-11:00PM, Sat 10:00AM-11:00PM, Sun 10:00AM-10:00PM
12. Brewerkz
No one really talks about Brewerkz but their burgers are legit. Underrated, Brewerkz serves up one of the best chunky burgers I have tasted in Singapore. Their handcrafted gourmet burgers are a joy to devour. One should go in extremely ravenous to enjoy the experience fully!
At Brewerkz, you could build your own burger or choose from their burger selection. With a blend of New Zealand Black Angus beef and seasoning, what could go wrong? Smack on some cheese, crispy bacon or other accompaniments, burgers at Brewerkz are never dull. The branch on Sentosa Boardwalk even overlooks the harbour, if the burgers didn’t excite you enough.
So what should you order as you watch the ships come and go? If you have a mean appetite, order the King Brew Burger ($25). This massive burger is insanely hearty. If this is way too big for you, order the Werkz ($24). Big juicy beef patties that will blow your mind, it’ll keep you coming back for more!
Brewerkz: Sentosa Gateway, #01-05 Sentosa Boardwalk, Singapore 098072 | Tel: 6221 0702 | Website | Opening Hours: Mon – Thurs 5PM-11PM, Fri 5PM-1AM, Sat 12PM-1AM, Sun 12PM-11PM, Eve of Public Holiday (until 1AM), Public Holiday (from 12PM)
11. Kaw Kaw Burger
Speaking of Ramly burgers… as a Malaysian, I could have been happier when Kaw Kaw SG opened its doors in Singapore. I used to live 10 minutes away from the original store in Subang Jaya. Now I know that if I ever need a burger bakar, I just need to go to Aliwal Arts Centre for some bakar goodness.
The Smokey Beef Bacon Burger ($14.80) has 175g worth of beef coated in melted cheese. The smokey BBQ sauce and toasted sesame buns were a joy to devour with the juicy beef patty. This burger will keep you coming back for more.
If you have a truly Malaysian taste in food, go for the Permaisuri Burger ($16.70). Everybody knows Malaysians do fried chicken the best (the best KFC isn’t in Kentucky, you know?) and this burger doesn’t disappoint with a chunk of fried chicken thigh sandwiched in between toasty buns with melted cheese, turkey ham slices, chicken floss and lemongrass sauce.
Kaw Kaw SG: 28 Aliwal Street, #01-01 Aliwal Art Centre Singapore 199918 | Tel: 6444 8349 | Website | Opening Hours: Mon – Thurs 12:00PM-11:00PM , Fri – Sun 3:00PM – 11:00PM
10. The Loof
The Loof is another hot spot for cocktails and bites for people who work in the CBD. Located atop of the Odeon Towers, it is fancy but not too extravagant, definitely a chill out rooftop bar that is known for its Asian fusion goodies.
The Ramly Burger ($18) for example tickles the inner kanak Malaysia in me. Made of 100% Australian prime beef, the patty is made in house and enveloped in an omelette which is then dressed with lettuce shreds and their secret sauce. The loof fries are just as amazing too.
The Loof also makes really delicious Babi-que Sliders ($16). Slow braised pulled pork doused in BBQ sauce, pickled onions and fresh white cheddar, the sliders are perfect for a meal or for an appetizer to share. I especially liked the fact that the white cheddar wasn’t melted. It gave the dish that extra oomph since you could taste the cheese.
The Loof: 331 North Bridge Road, #03-07 Odeon Towers Extension Rooftop (Opposite Raffles Hotel Shopping Arcade), Singapore 188720 Tel: 9773 9304 | Website | Opening Hours: Mon-Thu 5PM-1AM, Fri-Sat 5PM-2AM
9. Little Hiro
Not too far away from Botanic Gardens MRT, Little Hiro is pretty easy to get to. A second home to many Singaporean students studying around the area, Little Hiro is a casual joint that promises unique ramen burgers and spam fries. Also, be warned that you will almost always leave a mess behind when you visit Little Hiro. Why? Well…
Unlike normal burgers, ramen burgers are harder to hold because the ramen loosens up but they are so worth the trouble. The BBQ Bacon Bleu Ramen Burger ($11.90) is highly recommended.
You could never go wrong with a succulent flame grilled Australian beef patty grounded daily and soft bacon strips wrapped in a network of beautifully packed shio ramen that is fried to compact.
To take the experience a level up, order the spam fries too ($4.50). These bites of unhealthy goodness are just what you need to fulfill your grubby desires.
Little Hiro: 559 Bukit Timah Rd, 269695 | Tel: 6466 3477 | Website | Opening Hours: Sun – Thurs 11.30AM-9.30PM *last order 9.00pm, Fri-Sat 11.30AM-10.00PM. *last order 9.30pm
8. nomVnom
Getting fit and healthy seems to be the trend nowadays so here’s another vegan fast food restaurant for all of you fitties looking for a good burger. nomVnom offers creative and mouth-watering modern vegan food for both vegan and non-vegan communities. Especially great for those struggling to get through the baby days of their healthy plant-based diet.
The Vola Flora ($8.90) is the perfect choice for those who are used to fried food. With a potato patty slabbed with hummus, blue pea flowers, red coral lettuce and rocket leaves sandwiched in between two deep-fried croquettes, the Vola Flora is not only insta-worthy but also offers some nutritional value despite the deep-fried croquettes!
In addition to protein and fibre, the chickpeas used in hummus are high in iron, folate, phosphorus, and B vitamins. The blue pea flowers is also said to improve your eyesight, according to the owner.
If you’re looking for something healthier, order the QQ Cheezy ($8.90). The QQ Cheezy consists of a mushroom stem patty, slices of vegan cheese, romaine lettuce and homemade cashew sauce sandwiched between two steamed pillow-soft buns. What better way to get your calcium does, eh?
nomVnom:6 Eu Tong Sen Street, #B1-44 Central Clarke Quay, 059817 | Tel:6224 4996 |Website | Opening Hours: Mon – Sun 11AM-10PM
7. Omakase
The Omakase Burger hype in Singapore was pretty big at one point and regardless of what people say, you know it had to be in this list. One of the pioneers of Singapore’s modern burger scene, Omakase Burger uses USDA choice beef, American-imported cheese and pillow-soft artisanal buns. No wonder they’re so in demand aye.
Smash-grilled, the Omakase Cheeseburger ($14.90) is finger-licking good. You have to really bite into it to enjoy all the fresh ingredients. Although some complain that the burger size is rather small, at least you know you can finish it without feeling full to the brim.
If you’re a fan of bacon, the Omakase Applewood Smoked Bacon Cheeseburger ($17.90) is something you’ll surely to fancy. Be reminded that this is only available at the Wisma Atria branch though.
Omakase Burger @ The Grandstand: 200 Turf Club Road #01-05, Bukit Timah, Singapore 287994, | Tel: 6763 2698 | Website | Opening Hours: Mon – Thurs 11:30AM-3:30PM (last order 3:00PM), 5:00PM-9:30PM (last order 9:00PM), Fri – Sun 11:00AM-10:00PM (last order 9:30PM)

6. Fatboy’s The Burger Bar (Thomson Branch)
Here’s another Singapore classic burger place – Fatboy’s. Affordable, huge and sinfully good, Fatboy’s is famous for their outrageous burgers. With branches all over, Fatboy’s is never too far away, and always there to get my grease fix, especially when I’m in the Upper Thomson Road area. So what’s good at Fatboy’s? Almost every burger is a delight, but there’s some special ones to take note of.
The Elvis Presley ($11.00) of course. A thick peanut butter-slabbed bacon-stuffed pork patty smashed between honey oat buns. The well-done patty was topped with caramelized bananas slices too. The sweetness of the banana and honey oat is the yin to the yang of the salty peanut butter and savoury patty. The perfect balance.
Fatboy’s Burger Bar: 187 Upper Thomson Rd, Singapore 574335 | Tel: 6252 8780 | Website | Opening Hours: Mon – Thurs 4PM-12AM, Fri – Sun 12PM-12AM
5. HAMBAOBAO
Hambaobao takes affordability to a whole new level with a maximum of $5, Hambaobao offers great burgers without too much hassle. Unlike other burger joints, the ever humble Hambaobao is located in a more obscure place – Beauty World Food Centre. Different from its neighbours yet not so different, Hambaobao is the place to go for local-flavoured burgers.
The Ayam Buah Kerluak ($5) has received raving reviews and it has certainly lived up to them. The minced chicken patty is soft and juicy. The burger has rempah and chap chye in it too. This Pernakan pocket of joy is something you have to try.
If you like classic and traditional burgers, there is always the Classic Beef ($4.50). The buns are exceptionally crispy and greasy. Although this isn’t a Ramly burger, it comes pretty close to it in terms of presentation, price and hawker simplicity.
Hambaobao: Beauty World Centre, Blk 144 Upper Bukit Timah, #04-49 Singapore 588177 | Tel: 9667 5254 | Website | Opening Hours: Wed – Fri & Sun 12PM-8PM (Closed on Mondays, Tuesdays, Saturdays)
4. Wolf Burgers @ Pasarbella
Wolf Burgers is new to Singapore’s burger scene too, coming in strong to the game. Serving quality burgers, Wolf Burgers is a must-stop at Suntec’s Pasarbella.
The Buttermilk Fried Chicken Burger ($9.90) is a quality burger that is surprisingly affordable. Where in busy shopping centres and districts in Singapore could you find a burger below $10 nowadays? The fried chicken is crispy, greasy and is balanced by julienned carrots and beetroot enveloped by a toasty pair of buns.
Go during non-peak hours if you are planning on sitting down and wolfing down the burger. It is quite an experience.
Wolf Burgers: 3 Temasek Boulevard, #01-455 Suntec City North Wing, Singapore 038983 | Tel: 98204564 | Website | Opening Hours: Mon – Sun 12:00PM-9:30PM
3. MEATliquor
Popular burger joint MEATliquor from London has arrived on the shores of sunny Singapore. MEATliquor is known for it snaking queues back in the UK but why queue in the cold when you can have it right here in Singapore.
Bacon Cheeseburger ($24.00). The beef patties at MEATliquor are flavourful and cooked to medium doneness. That is the default, but you can request to customise the doneness of your patty althought I’d highly recommend against it.
All beef patties are made with US Aberdeen Angus beef chuck, with 20% fat ratio in the patty for balance of flavour and tenderness.
MEATliquour: 99 Duxton Road, Singapore 089543 | Tel: 6221 5343 |Website | Opening hours: SUN-THU 11:30-14:30, 17:00-23:00; FRI-SAT 11:30-14:30, 17:00-01:00
2. The Butcher’s Club
Over at The Butchers Club Burger, we are talking about quality dry-aged grain fed Angus beef from Australia, minced right in front of you and sent straight to the grill.
The Burger ($20). While the primary cuts are used for their signature dry-aged steaks, the secondary cuts from the rump, brisket and chuck are dry-aged before being grounded into the juicy patties for your enjoyment.
The dry-aging process ranges from 7 – 30 days and is done in-store. It’s a labour-intensive process, but it’s certainly worth it in our view – the flavour of the meat is outstanding.
The Butcher’s Club: The Cannery, Clarke Quay, 3A River Valley Road #01-01B, Singapore 179020 | Tel: +65 6837 0675 | Website | Opening Hours: Weds – Sat 12pm – 2am; Sun – Tues 12pm- 10pm
1. Huber’s Butchery
21 day dry aged Angus beef burger ($17.50). You can expect nothing less but quality meats from Huber’s butchery, and their burgers are no exception. Opt for your meat patty to be cooked medium rare or medium; not much places offer this choice due to ‘health concerns’, but fresh beef is perfectly fine without being thoroughly cooked and retains more flavour.
By far one of the best burgers you can find in Singapore is at Huber’s, while many restaurants use meat supplied by this butchery so why not enjoy it straight from the source?
Huber’s Butchery: 22 Dempsey Rd, Singapore 249679 | Tel: 6737 1588 | Website | Opening hours: Daily 9.30AM – 8PM
