16 best pizza joints in Singapore that’ll get you kneading more

There’s just something about freshly made pizza that warms my heart and stomach. To me, pizzas are one of the best things in the world thanks to their delightfully pillowy crusts and unlimited variety of toppings.

Pizzas are super versatile too. These days, you can get a pizza delivered to your doorstep so that you can enjoy it while watching movies in your pyjamas. However, my personal favourite would still have to be when it’s freshly made and piping hot out of the oven at the restaurant.

In celebration of the ultimate modern day comfort food, we’ve sussed out the best 16 pizza joints in Singapore that you simply need to get a piece of.

1. Blue Label Pizza & Wine

Best pizza - blue label pizza wine

With 725 Google Reviews and an average rating of 4.4, Blue Label Pizza & Wine has seen it all. Diners have said that it “serves one of the best pizzas in Singapore” that’s worth “repeated visits”, so you know this is a pizzeria that you should definitely check out.

Located at Ann Siang Hill and Somerset, Blue Label Pizza & Wine offers a modern take on the neighbourhood pizzeria with its vivid blue entrance, cosy vibes, classic rock music and fantastic pizza.

Feeling adventurous? Try the Green Machine (S$34), as it has bechamel, kale, asparagus and pistachios, or the Wish I Was A Baller (S$42), which is a loaded pizza topped with sliced steak, French’s mustard bechamel, roasted onions, mushrooms and provolone

Best pizza - limoncello

Limoncello Pizza & Grill is the brainchild of chef and owner Fabio Iannone (who also opened La Braceria, by the way!), and this authentic Italian restaurant is where you head to if you’re looking for casual yet stunning Italian cuisine.

It’s tucked away on a riverside terrace at Robertson Quay, giving you amazing views of the Singapore River.

Limoncello Pizza & Grill specialises in homemade pasta, Neapolitan wood-fired pizza and charcoal-grilled meat and seafood, so be prepared for a feast!

Purists, try Limoncello’s Margherita (S$19), a fan-favourite with tomato, mozzarella and fresh basil, or its Quattro Formaggi – Four Cheese (S$28), a classic with a white base, emmental, gorgonzola, mozzarella and parmesan cheese.

For a meatier bite, go for the Meat Lovers (S$29), which has tomato, mozzarella, cooked ham, bacon and spice salame. But of course, you should definitely try its eponymous Limoncello (S$29), as it uses a white base, mozzarella, beef sausage, porcini mushrooms, button mushrooms and parmesan.

3. d.o.c

Best pizza - doc

You’ll find d.o.c along South Beach Avenue, and this authentic Italian restaurant serves up wood-fired Neapolitan-style pizzas. Interestingly, d.o.c. stands for “denominazione di origine controllata”, which is literally translated to “designation of origin”.

d.o.c is run by Chef Davide Tanda, a professional pizzaiolo— a chef who has been trained to make real, Italian-style pizzas— with more than 20 years of experience in making pizzas. In fact, all pizza dough is handcrafted by Chef Davide and takes up to 20 hours to proof. It’s then cooked in d.o.c’s Beech-Ovens stone hearth oven using applewood.

Sporting 33 pizza options like the classic Prosciutto Funghi (S$29) and Porchetta (S$30), d.o.c truly has everything you might want in a pizzeria.

Go for its Parma Rucola (S$32) with tomato, mozzarella, parma ham, rocket salad and parmesan, or try the Zucca (S$38) which has pumpkin cream, mozzarella, grana padano, pancetta and capers. If you’re up for something special, try the Pinocchio (S$34) as it has pistachio cream, mozzarella, porcini and pork sausage— a real unique combination!

4. Etna Italian Restaurant

Best pizza - etna 2

Etna Italian Restaurant was founded in 2006 and its name is a cheeky play on words. Not only is it named after Italy’s highest and most iconic volcano, Mount Etna, it’s also an acronym for the restaurant’s famous saying: “Every Table Needs Attention”.

It’s fronted by the only female Executive Chef from Italy in Singapore, Ms Anna Borrasi, and aims to present a truly authentic Italian dining experience in Singapore, complete from cuisine to service.

Best pizza - etna

Offering contemporary Italian cuisine with a Sicilian touch, and made only from the finest ingredients imported from Italy, every dish at Etna will transport you to the heart of Italy.

Etna’s menu is straightforward, with its pizza offerings split into 2: Pizze Bianche (white pizza) and Pizze Rosse (red pizza). Try its luxurious Umbricella (S$30), a stunning creation featuring mozzarella, Italian black truffle paste, cooked ham and Stracciatella cheese, or the all-time favourite Burrata (S$32), which features fresh burrata cheese, parma ham and rocket salad.

It’s also a must to check out Etna’s thorough wine menu which features over 18 labels by glass and 80 labels by bottle, as every single wine has been carefully hand-picked from an array of Italian wines!

5. LUCE by Davide Giacomelli (InterContinental Singapore)

Best Pizzas - LUCE

For an exceptionally authentic, hand-tossed version of your favourite circle-ish food, try InterContinental Singapore’s LUCE by Davide Giacomelli. Opened in mid-2022, it combines the charm of a traditional bistro with the finesse of an Italian gastronomic haven in what they term bistronomy.

What makes LUCE especially wonderful is that they serve pinsa as well as the common pizza. Pinsa is a Roman-style pizza which is a cross between traditional pizza and focaccia bread. More elliptical than round, it is made from a dough of wheat, soy and rice flour and is considered pizza’s healthier cousin.

Hand-tossed with love and expertise by Pizza Chef Edward Low, these culinary delights are a symphony of flavours and textures.

Best Pizzas - LUCE buffet

Our pick of LUCE’s pinsas range is the Tonno Bianco e Cipolle (S$36). This pinsa is a revelation featuring homemade tomato sauce, scamorza cheese, red onion and the delicate Bonito del Norte tuna belly.

Its pillowy-soft base formed a lovely background for the richness of the tuna and cheese to shine. Coupled with the tang from the tomato and onion, the Tonno Bianco e Cipolle was easily our favourite from the menu.

If you’re a staunch pizza loyalist, try the Pizza al Tartufo (S$38). This stunning white pizza arrives covered with mozzarella cheese, truffle dressing, mushroom duxelles and arugula. It’s a mouthwatering medley of flavours. Rich, earthy mushrooms complement the peppery arugula well.

Even eggplant is transformed into a culinary masterpiece with the Melanzane (S$32) at LUCE. Organic eggplant, homemade tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, Grana Padano, basil and extra virgin olive oil encapsulate the essence of Italian comfort, offering a rich and satisfying experience that’s perfect for sharing.

Pinsa goes well with alcohol and you can make the most of both with the Pinsa and Booze (S$38++). Chow down on as many slices of 5 different kinds of pinsas and pizzas as you wish, including the Pinsa Prosciutto Cotto e Gorgonzola, Pinsa Salsiccia e Funghi and Pizza Mortadella. It’s accompanied by a free-flow of Menabrea Italian beer and Prosecco.

The Pinsa and Booze promotion is available every Tue & Wed, 6pm to 8pm.

6. Pizzamaru

Best pizza - pizzamaru

Let’s take a break from Italian pizzas, shall we? Pizzamaru is Singapore’s first Korean pizza restaurant, and its dough is something we’ve never seen before— it uses green tea, cholera and 12 other healthier grains to create its patented nutrient-packed dough.

Pizzamaru is also the world’s largest Korean pizza chain, so think Pizza Hut, but on a much larger global scale. You can find them at 2 locations in Singapore: Bugis+ and Plaza Singapura.

Best pizza - pizzamaru 2

Pizzamaru’s pizzas are stuffed to the brim, but one you should definitely try is its Real Chicago (S$29.90) as it uses black rice dough, 3 different types of cheese, beef pepperoni and tomato sauce to create a sinful and indulgent experience.

If you’re a steak lover, try the ‘HI STEAK’ Chicago (S$33.90), which has beef steak, Korean bulgogi, pepperoni, double mozzarella cheese and tomato sauce. Alternatively, go for the Garlicky BBQ Pizza (from S$19.90), as it comes with plenty of smoked chicken, turkey bacon, onion, mushroom, bell pepper and mozzarella cheese.

7. LINO

Best pizza - lino 2

Have you heard of LINO? This pizza and pasta bar is famous for its fresh handmade pizza and comforting pasta, and I’ve dined here plenty to know that it’s a great, no-frills spot for amazing pizza.

Currently, LINO has 2 outlets in Singapore: One within Forum the Shopping Mall and another at Binjai Park. Here’s a fun fact: LINO comes from the Italian word linen, which is used to cover pizza dough as it leavens.

Best pizza - lino

LINO’s famous Burrata (S$32) is a must-order whenever you’re here. This is a stunning pizza that always hits the spot for me, as it features tomato passata, marinated cherry tomatoes, an entire burrata in the middle, and topped with basil pesto. It’s a real delight as you slice into the large, circular burrata and enjoy a piece of piping hot pizza with a slather of creamy, cold burrata. Mmmm!

Not a fan of burrata? Try the Mixed Meat (S$29), a fail-safe option with beef and pork meatballs, bacon, salami, nduja, tomato passata and mozzarella, or the Prosciutto (S$29), as it has mozzarella, tomato passata, arugula and shaved parmesan.

If you’re looking for something more exquisite, go for any one of its 6 signature pizzas, like the Stracciatella, Prosciutto, Rucola and Fig Vincotto (S$35) or Roasted Delica Squash, Wild Garlic Pesto, Rucola, Beluga Capers and Balsamico (S$25).

9. Zazz Pizza

Best pizza - zazz pizza 2

This is for all you CBD folks! Zazz Pizza is located within Cross Street Exchange, and this casual Italian restaurant is where you head to for fuss-free yet comforting pizza.

The man behind Zazz Pizza is Chef Fernando, who has over 25 years of experience in Italian cuisine. In fact, he’s been creating artisanal pizzas in Singapore for more than 15 years, and before that, in Dubai.

Best pizza - Zazz Pizza

While most authentic Italian places don’t offer half-and-half pizza, Zazz Pizza does. That’s not all— you can also build your own pizza here by choosing from toppings like Burrata (S$15), Taleggio (S$6), Meatballs (S$7), Clams (S$6) and even Vegan Cheese (S$6)! The sky’s really the limit.

Want to leave it up to the chefs? Pick from Zazz Pizza’s wide range of pizzas, like Bismark (S$29), Calzone (S$32), Diavola (S$28) and the classic Quattro Formaggi (S$30).

10. La Braceria Pizza & Grill

Best pizza - la braceria
Best pizza - la braceria

Hidden along a row of unassuming stores in the residential neighbourhood of Bukit Timah is La Braceria Pizza & Grill

Known to be one of the best date night spots with hearty, rustic Italian food, La Braceria is headed by Chef Fabio Iannone (yes, the very same who founded Limoncello Pizza & Grill) and its kitchen is run by Chef Giovanni Minarelli, both of whom are trained Italian chefs.

Best pizza - la braceria 2

Expect an extensive menu with everything you could possibly want— starters, pasta, pizza, meat dishes, seafood, dessert and wine.

La Braceria’s pizza selection is pretty traditional, with over a dozen choices like your traditional Margherita (S$19), Diavola (S$24), Calzone (S$24) and Rucola Prosciutto di Parma (S$29). My personal favourite though is the Bufala (S$28), as it has tomato, basil leaves and more importantly, bufala mozzarella.

Note that half-and-half pizzas are also available at La Braceria, though they charge an additional S$5. Each extra topping will also cost S$7 more.

11. Mr Kneady’s

Mr Kneady's - storefront
Mr Kneady's - storefront

Have you ever come across artisanal pizza in a hawker centre? Check out Mr Kneady’s, a humble hawker stall in The Bedok Marketplace at Simpang Bedok, as it sells handmade sourdough pizza.

All pizzas are freshly made upon order by 34-year-old Lionel, who actually has a wheat allergy! To counter this, he decided to specialise in sourdough.

Mr Kneady's - pizza
Mr Kneady's - pizza

As Mr Kneady’s is single-handedly run by Lionel, its menu is comparatively leaner than others, with only 6 pizzas to choose from that range from sweet to savoury. We decided to try one of each and got the Vox Populi (S$16), a taco-inspired sourdough pizza with jalapenos, pork sausage, cheddar and mozzarella, as well as the only sweet sourdough pizza, the Art of War (S$13).

The Vox Populi was pure cheesy, meaty goodness with a piquant sourness and slight heat, while the Art of War surprised me as it reminded me more of a banana streusel pie. While I personally prefer savoury pizzas, Mr Kneady’s Art of War won me over in a heartbeat with its crunchy notes.

This is a place I’d definitely recommend if you’re looking for a fuss-free pizza option in a hawker centre. Not to mention, its pizzas are much cheaper than those served at restaurants!

12. John’s Pizzeria & Bakery

Best pizza - johns pizzeria bakery 2
Best pizza - johns pizzeria bakery 2

While we’ve seen plenty of Neapolitan pizzas in Singapore, there hasn’t been someone who brought in the good ol’ American deep-dish pizza— until now.

Enter John’s Pizzeria & Bakery, a quaint pizza place that literally has one outlet in every part of Singapore— Lorong Kilat in the west, Alexandra Road near central, along East Coast Road, and Woodlands in the north. It’s run by a couple, Jason and Nina, who were so fond of the deep-dish pizzas that they had back in the U.S. that they decided to re-create it in Singapore.

Best pizza - johns pizzeria

Every American-style deep-dish pie is hand-tossed and baked to perfection, with premium ingredients like pork pepperoni imported directly from the U.S. for the best experience possible.

Go for the signature John’s Deep Dish Cheese (S$33), a sinful indulgence combining white cheddar, mozzarella, New York-style sauce, and sourdough crust with crispy cheese on the edges. Want something meatier? Try John’s Deep Dish Pepperoni (S$37), which comes topped with slightly spicy New York-style sauce and extra pepperoni.

13. La Nonna

Best pizza - la nonna 2

When talking about pizza, La Nonna is an absolute must-visit. Nestled cosily along the row of shophouses at Holland Village, La Nonna was created in Nov 2006 to capture the soul of authentic Italian cuisine.

Just like its name suggests (“la nonna” means “grandmother” in Italian), La Nonna uses time-honoured recipes passed down from an Italian grandmother, and has gained plenty of fans thanks to its comfort food and warm Italian hospitality.

Best pizza - la nonna

For pizzas, you won’t go wrong with La Nonna’s Our Signature Pizza (S$25), which comes with tomato, mozzarella, parmesan, asparagus, egg and black truffle. For a simpler alternative, go for the Margherita (S$23) with tomato, buffalo mozzarella and fresh basil.

Vegans can have their pizza and eat it too, with La Nonna’s Tomato, Bell Pepper, Zucchini, Asparagus, Artichoke and Mushroom (S$24.50), as it uses vegan-friendly ingredients with no cheese. My personal favourite will have to be the Burrata (S$28.50)— a glorious creation with a whole dollop of fresh burrata cheese, cherry tomatoes, mozzarella, tomato and basil.

Tucked away in Robertson Quay is Bella Pizza, a well-loved Italian eatery famed for its handmade pizzas. Most of its pizzas are Neapolitan in style, and it’s been dishing out authentic Italian cuisine over the last 15 years.

Amazingly, Bella Pizza has over 22 pizza options to pick from, ranging from red to white and even folded pizzas. From Pizza Diavola (S$26) to Pizza Porchetta (S$26), and well-loved favourites like Pizza Burrata (S$28) and Pizza Chorizo (S$24), I’m sure you’ll be spoilt for choice.

Note that it also has barca-style pizzas, which are inspired by Sicilian boats, so be sure to try Bella Pizza’s Barca Siciliana Con Salsiccia e Cipolle (S$26), which is a pizza boat with tomato, mozzarella, Italian sausage and sauteed onions.

For a touch of contemporary flair, try Ristorante Luka. Also known as LUKA, this restaurant is helmed by Takashi Okuno and Daisuke Yoshikawa, both of whom have a passion for serving up delicious Italian-Japanese cuisine in a casual setting.

Currently, Ristorante Luka has 2 locations: Tanjong Pagar and Cross Street Exchange.

As expected from a restaurant with Italian-Japanese influences, expect fusion pizzas like Samurai (S$29) which uses mozzarella cheese, chicken teriyaki, onion, green chilli, spring onion and mayonnaise, as well as unique spins on traditional favourites like Marinara Shirasu (S$28). The latter doesn’t use cheese— instead, it has tomato sauce, garlic, oregano, basil, anchovy and shirasu (aka whitebait).

Regardless, you’ll still find your well-loved Italian favourites here, such as Margherita (S$24), Diavola (S$30) and Quattro Formaggi (S$30).

16. La Pizzaiola

Best pizza - la pizzaiola 2

The story behind La Pizzaiola is a heartwarming one. Its owners, Loris and Guiseppe, used to frequent a small, cosy and warm pizzeria in Italy helmed by a friendly lady. This pizzeria was known as La Pizzaiola.

With the aim of recreating that fond experience, Loris and Guiseppe sought to start an authentic, pocket-friendly and more importantly, down-to-earth Italian pizza and pasta eatery. It currently has 3 outlets: Jalan Riang, Kalidasa Avenue near Lentor and Dunearn Road.

Best pizza - la pizzaiola

La Pizzaiola’s pizza is as classic as it gets— there’s the Margherita (S$19.90), Calzone (S$22.90), Verdure (S$20.90) and other favourites like Quattro Formaggi & Honey (S$24.90)

For those a fan of pineapples on pizza, you might be glad to know that La Pizzaiola offers the Hawaiana (S$22.90), which has Italian tomato sauce, mozzarella, cooked ham and pineapple. For the ultimate indulgence, try its La Pizzaiola Speciale (S$27.90).
