Matthew Perry rose to stardom in the 1990s as Chandler Bing on the sitcom "Friends."
Fans loved his character for his deadpan sarcasm, dad jokes, and relatable neuroticisms.
Here are some of the best Chandler quotes and one-liners, including Perry's favorite line.
Tributes for the "Friends" star Matthew Perry have been pouring in after authorities found the actor dead at his Los Angeles home Saturday. He was 54.
For a decade Perry appeared in more than 200 episodes of the Emmy-award-winning sitcom as the neurotic but sweet Chandler Bing.
Perry, who was just 24 when he landed the role, managed to set himself apart as "the funny one" on one of the funniest shows ever produced. The showrunners even gave him the last word in the final episode as the cast heads out of the apartment and Rachel suggests grabbing a coffee. "Sure. Where?" jokes Chandler.
Here are some of the best one-liners from Matthew Perry's character.
"Hi, I'm Chandler, I make jokes when I'm uncomfortable."
"I'm funny, right? What do you know, you're a door. You just like knock-knock jokes."
"Hey Janice, it's me. I just wanted to apologize in advance for having chased you down the street."
Rachel: "Guys! Guess what, guess what, guess what?!"
Chandler: "The fifth dentist caved, and now they're ALL recommending Trident?"
"I'm not great at the advice. Can I interest you in a sarcastic comment?"
Joey: "I need to organize my thoughts."
Chandler: "Your thoughts — plural."
"I say more dumb things before 9 a.m. than most people say all day."
Ross: "No, homo habilis was erect. Australopithecus was never fully erect."
Chandler: "Well, maybe he was nervous."
"I'm full, and yet I know if I stop eating this, I'll regret it."
Ross: "I went to that tanning place your wife suggested."
Chandler: "Was that place the sun?"
"If I were a guy and … did I just say, 'If I were a guy'?"
"I'm glad we're having a rehearsal dinner. I rarely practice my meals before I eat."
And finally, Perry told Good Morning America in 2017 that his favorite line from the 200-plus episodes of "Friends" was in response to a typically stupid ramble from Joey. Chandler then quips: "OK. You have to stop the Q-tip when there's resistance."
