11 fun facts about Yoon Chan-young from Netflix’s K-drama All Of Us Are Dead
You may know him from Netflix's coming-of-age zombie apocalypse K-drama All Of Us Are Dead. But did you know that the show’s leading star Yoon Chan-young just turned 21 last month? And get this, he is already a multi-award-winning actor and has been one since he was 10.
Acting from the tender age of 9 in 2013, Yoon has garnered accolades for his acting chops. With just one year of acting under his belt, the natural-born actor earned two awards: the best young actor at the 3rd APAN Star Awards (2014) and the 2014 MBC Drama Awards for his role in 'Mama'. He has held his own in recent years, taking on meatier leading roles instead of acting as the child version of the male leads.
Yahoo Shopping spoke with the newly minted Coach ambassador – the luxury brand's first ambassador for Korea – and grilled him on his fashion go-to's on- and off-screen and his favourite hobbies, and his top travel destinations. We observed that he is laser-focused on building his acting career and the average young adult who enjoys spending time with his friends doing, well, boys stuff.

1. He’s still pursuing full-time studies
Knowing at a young age what one wants to do in life is not a given. For Yoon, he's focused on acting as a long-term career. Even the topics he chooses in college are selected with future roles in mind. He is currently studying forensic medicine and law – two vastly different courses set to poise him for future roles in the legal and medical genres. What a planner!
2. He loves romance-themed shows
His love for the movie La La Land starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, has been frequently shared on his socials. There is another romance-themed movie Us and Them, that Yoon highly recommends to Yahoo readers. It appears that romance tugs at his heartstrings.
3. His ideal role is not the role of Ryan Gosling in La La Land
A quick scroll through his social will reveal his love for the Hollywood movie La La Land. See his Instagram post of himself playing the theme song from La La Land. However, when quizzed about his ideal role, Yoon thinks further ahead. His ideal role would mix romance, thrillers and chasing scenes. Such a show will allow him to display his repertoire of skillsets and talents. We can't wait!
4. His fashion go-to's off-screen include neckties
Usually in comfy oversized styles, Yoon opts for clean and neat looks. He also enjoys wearing shirts and, from time to time, neckties! He enjoys putting on something different now and then, with comfort being the top choice.
5. His top 3 favourite Coach items
Citing the top 3 must-haves from Coach, Yoon is a true ambassador. He knows the brand's products well and uses them on a day-to-day basis because he loves them so much. For example, he loves Coach's totes for their functional sizes, the trendy yet versatile Hitch backpack he brings to college, and the basketball-inspired leather jacket for its comfort.

6. New York is top on his travel list
The Coach ambassador’s travel priority is somewhat work-related. Citing New York as the birthplace of Coach, Yoon wishes to fly to The Big Apple to discover more about the brand’s heritage and immerse himself in the numerous fashion shows. A trustworthy brand endorser indeed!
7. He has always been curious about Singapore
Yoon’s first impression of Singapore was a Merlion fork holder souvenir his grandparents brought back from a trip to Singapore when he was very young. It was then that seeded his wish to visit the lion city eventually. We hope he gets a chance to do so very soon.
8. He idolises Son Heung-min, a Korean footballer
Apart from hitting the gym regularly, Yoon meets up weekly with a group of actor friends to play his favourite sport – soccer. He loves the sport so much that one of his top three travel destinations is London where he can catch a soccer match played by Korean footballer Son Heung-min.
9. He achieves balance in life by having a group of close friends
On how he juggles his busy schedule with school, acting and modelling, Yoon firmly believes in meeting friends every once in a while to help maintain his emotional health.
10. He enjoys playing video games and cooking!
Besides meeting his pals for a game of soccer, Yoon frequently invites his friends over to have a barbeque session and play video games together. Of course, his favourite video games are – you guessed it – soccer and car racing. The rising star is also confident about his cooking skills.

11. He will play a taxi driver in an upcoming drama
Yoon will be back for shooting in June after his exams. He will be playing the role of a taxi driver in Deliveryman. Look out for it!
