1. Kee’s

Father’s Day is a time-honoured occasion for expressing appreciation and celebrating the paternal figures who have shaped our lives in profound ways. It’s an opportunity to cherish shared moments, reflect on cherished memories, and create new ones. And what better way to commemorate this special day than by indulging in a culinary delight that brings the family together?

Celebrate it with a sumptuous meal from Kee’s Sunday Roast (S$128) that feeds 3-4 guests. I would say this is the most bang for the buck. With only around S$32 per pax, this Sunday Roast offers a whole Butter Roast Chicken, Citrus Kale Salad, Basil Pesto Orcchiette as well as the Potatoes Au Gratin.

What surprised me was how each dish in the Sunday Roast complemented each other.

The Butter Roast Chicken retained its moisture during cooking and was doused in an acidic vinegar-based sauce. This acidity prompted my saliva glands to salivate more for the already moist chicken. This also helped to complement the richness and creaminess of the Potatoes Au Gratin. The Basil Pesto Orcchiette provided a deep herbaceous undertone that when especially appetising when eaten with the chicken.

On the flip side, the Citrus Kale Salad is bright, fruity and nutty all in one. Crunchy kale doused in generous olive oil and topped with grapefruit brightened all of the heavier and richer flavours of other dishes. I enjoyed the bits of crunchy pomegranate and nut barb which further accentuates the fruitiness. The salad was a great complement to the meal.

Diners get to also opt into their take of Bloody Mary – Tempest (S$22). Using leftover bacon fat, bacon vodka is created by steeping the fats in vodka for more than 24 hours. The end result is a Smokey and slightly briny vodka.

Helmed by ex Fat-Cow Chef, this chic 40-seater establishment in Telok Ayer specialises in open-faced handroll. This father’s day, they have released a new Father’s Day Set (S$48). The set includes a salad to start, Wagyu Sando (4 pcs), and a Matcha Latte which can be upgraded to a Beer (S$8).

Biting into a Wagyu Sando is a multi-sensory experience. The initial crunch of the bread gives way to the succulent, rich flavour of the Wagyu beef, with the sauce providing a perfect tangy counterpoint. Each bite is a harmonious blend of textures and flavours, showcasing the luxurious simplicity of Japanese cuisine.

If you are still peckish, their Engawa Handroll (S$9) is to die for. Made from the fin of the flounder, this rare ingredient is luxuriously premium and lush.

Places with a view

8. Panamericana

Look no further than Panamericana for a Father’s Day party that blends fine food with magnificent views and warm hospitality. This restaurant, located on the beautiful Sentosa Island, provides a one-of-a-kind dining experience with panoramic views of a verdant golf course in the foreground and the beautiful Sentosa sea in the background.

Panamericana offers your father a broad menu inspired by the flavours of the Pan-American Highway. The restaurant’s speciality is flawlessly grilled meats and fresh seafood served with a unique blend of spices and methods from throughout the Americas.

Begin your culinary trip with a variety of tempting starters, from the spicy thick and juicy Shrimp Cocktail (S$20) to comforting Mexican Chorizo & Beans (S$16). They work great to get you salivating wanting for more.

My suggestion? Jump straight into the mind-blowing mains. Back by popular demand is the Colombian Chicken (S$22). Topped with a chilli glaze, smoked and grilled for 24 hours, I am not kidding when I say that this is perhaps the juiciest and most tender I ever had.

If poultry is not your thing, then the Stone Axe Ribeye Steak (S$198) will be your thing. Sliced up into convenient strips, these MBS 8/9 full-blood Wagyu just disintegrates in your mouth.

To switch up the flavours, I recommend it paired with the California (S$22). This put a twist on what a traditionally tossed salad should be— stacked lettuce greens topped with generous portions of pistachio cream and nuts. The end result is a creamy and nutritional yet not too surfeiting “salad” that I could eat all day.

Let’s not forget the indulgent nature of sipping on icy cool cocktails with this magnificent view. With a plethora of cocktails to choose from I loved the Tikki (S$25) for its fruit-forward flavours with dark chocolate accents. A fruity cocktail for those who are not a fan of the straightforward nature of Lychee Martini (S$25) or Negroni (S$25).

Panamericana has exceeded and blown past all expectations of what a restaurant should be. I could sit here all day telling you about all my favourites but that would take too long. I recommend pampering your father and bringing them down to have this magical experience.
