This 100-minute Spooky Train Ride Through the Scenic Pennsylvania Woodlands Is Perfect for Halloween — With Goblins, Ghosts, and a Haunted Maze

It’s spooky season, which means there are plenty of fun-filled festive things happening from coast to coast. Entire towns are getting into the spirit, Disney is aglow with orange and black lights, and a jack-o’-lantern named Lewis is absolutely dominating TikTok thanks to his non-threatening demeanor. But, if you’re someone who is into getting actually terrified this season, then it’s time to make your way to Pennsylvania to hop aboard the “No Hope After Dark Train,” which looks downright horrifying.
The haunting train ride takes guests through the woodlands in eastern Pennsylvania on a 100-minute journey that will have you jumping out of your train seat more than once.
“Our train will depart from New Hope to our festival at the unknown, where you will venture through our brand-new haunted maze, where live actors lurk around every twisted turn,” the train’s website explains. That includes what appears to be an ax-wielding menace who will likely chase you around a few corners, a few witches, goblins, and plenty of ghouls for good measure.
But as the train adds, “Fear not! The night isn’t solely about screams and shivers. Many nights beckon with food trucks offering a delicious escape from the fright and live music casting enchanting tunes under the moonlit sky, bringing a lively respite for the brave at heart.”
Though there are some more light-hearted activities to take part in, the train still recommends that all guests be 13 years old or older.
The Halloween train kicks off on Friday, October 6, with rides available through October 31. Tickets are available in either coach class, which comes with padded, bench-style seating, or first class, which includes more formal dining table setups. Tickets start at $53.
Looking for something a little less scary? You can always hop aboard the train’s Fall Excursion ride, which takes place on a restored vintage passenger coach from the early 1900s and travels through the same beautiful forest landscapes. No ghosts included.
