10-year-old mini Bruce Lee, Ryusei Imai, now has a scarily muscular physique
Ryusei Imai is a 10-year-old kid from Japan who is a hardcore fan of Bruce Lee. When we say “hardcore”, it’s not an exaggeration, for this little boy has been watching Bruce Lee’s movies since he was one.
He can even produce an almost exact copy of Bruce Lee’s signature nunchuck moves. By the way, he was only five in the above short clip. That video also marks the point when Ryusei first took the internet by storm.
Now, after years of training, Ryusei looks nothing like a regular 10-year-old child. Here he is, with a shockingly muscular physique for a 10-year-old, complete with an impressive set of six-pack abs. How is this steel-hard body possible for a child who hasn’t left primary school???
“I want to be cool like Bruce Lee,” Ryusei said on the Australian variety show Little Big Shots. Apparently, Ryusei trains every day and when asked what he likes to do when he is not doing impressions of Bruce Lee, he replied after pondering hard for a few seconds, “I only do Bruce Lee.”
Ryusei’s usual training involves doing so many push-ups that his knuckles are covered with blisters. He also does suspended leg raises, handstand push-ups using knuckles, and even one level higher – handstand push-ups using fingers! He also does a lot of running, squats and kicks to build his brawny body, just like his idol Bruce Lee.
When questioned if he is afraid his kid would injure himself with so much grueling physical training, Ryusei’s father explained, “As he is taking the training seriously, injuries are unavoidable. But what’s more important is to train the mind.”
True enough, being able to withstand all that tough training at such a young age is indeed a remarkable feat of resilience, determination and endurance. Most of us would have called it quits when nasty and painful blisters start surfacing. While Bruce Lee’s teacher Ip Man could fight 10 enemies at one go, don’t you think Ryusei could possibly surpass that?
