10 places with the motherfudging chunkiest cookies in Singapore

Cookies, cookies, cookies, we just can’t get enough of them. The versatility of these sweet little morsels of goodness never fails to impress me, and over the years, one kind of cookie has been gaining massive popularity: thick, gooey and chunky cookies.

New York’s famous Levain Bakery is what comes to mind when I picture a decadent chunky cookie with soft textures and oozy fillings. Unfortunately, I’ve never gotten to savour one of Levain Bakery’s cookies for myself, so I set out on a mission to locate places that offer similarly fudgy and thick cookies on our small island.

Ladies and gentlemen, here are 10 places in Singapore where you can find the motherfudging chunkiest cookies in Singapore.

1. For Fudge Sake

For Fudge Sake is an online business that offers a whopping 12 different flavours of chunky cookies, from familiar and classic variations like The OG (S$6), made with Valrhona Guanaja (70%) dark chocolate, to more inventive and unique creations.

Each cookie is priced at S$6 or S$6.50, and are only sold in boxes of six. Don’t worry, you can mix the flavours to enjoy a wide variety of cookies.

You have to try For Fudge Sake’s unique mochi cookies, which come stuffed with chewy mochi. Capt. Jack Taro (S$6.50) features a taro cookie dough studded with Valrhona Dulcey chunks and stuffed with a soft, buttery taro mochi. Goma Bear (S$6.50), on the other hand, consists of black sesame cookie dough, Valrhona Dulcey chunks and mochi.

Matcha lovers can opt for Hakuna Matchacha (S$6.50), made with uji matcha cookie dough, Valrhona Dulcey chocolate and mochi. The slightly crisp and gooey textures of the cookies paired well with the chewy, soft mochi, and I was thoroughly impressed at how For Fudge Sake managed to melt the two contrasting textures together.

The other cookies I had were Kinder Surprise MF (S$6), made with triple chocolate cookie dough, roasted hazelnuts and homemade hazelnut cream and The Christea (S$6), an earl grey cookie stuffed with milk chocolate chunks, crushed oreos and homemade oreo cookie butter.

My personal favourite was Pistache-hoe (S$6), which was filled with the most glorious homemade roasted pistachio spread.
