10 picturesque seaside dining spots for the ultimate overseas vibes
It’s been a long time since I’ve travelled, and I sorely miss being whisked away for an adventure far away from home. Well, getting a slice of that overseas vibe might not be as hard as you think — Singapore has some very picturesque seaside dining spots that will make you think you’re in Bali.
Be prepared to whip out the ‘gram for sunset shots, complete with seaside breeze and wind-swept hair, because here are 10 picturesque seaside dining spots that’ll give you the ultimate overseas vibes.
1. Stella Seaside Lounge
Dining by the sea doesn’t get any better than this. Hidden along the Changi coast, Stella Seaside Lounge is a pretty sight to behold.
You’ve got an unobstructed view of the sea, coconut trees swaying in the breeze and dim light bulbs streamed across the outdoor tables. When night falls, a gorgeous sunset appears on its right. With a tropical cocktail in hand, it’s easy to forget that you’re in bustling metropolitan Singapore.
We got a sneak peek at its upcoming new menu (to be launched in April 2022), which includes Birria Beef Tacos — tender, roasted stewed beef packed in crispy taco shells, and accompanied by a beef consomme.
This would be what I imagined if I combined beef chilli cheese fries with freshly fried nacho chips, with a sprinkling of lime and black pepper. The beef was caramelised and smokey, and went perfectly with the crispy taco shells. This is a definite must-try when you’re dining at Stella Seaside Lounge.
Be sure to book its seaside lounge chairs in advance, and particularly before or around dusk, if you want to catch the setting sun.

Sit back and enjoy the beautiful marina as you indulge in Kumamoto Oysters (S$6.50 each), and if you’re looking to get their Fresh Fillets (S$32.95), you’ll certainly be spoiled for choice. Whether you prefer your fish pan-seared, baked, chargrilled or battered, choose from over 10 fishes, including red snapper, Atlantic salmon, barramundi, yellowfin tuna and New Zealand pink snapper.

Ola Beach Club will prove to you that you can enjoy Hawaii beach vibes right here in sunny Singapore. Located in Sentosa’s Siloso Beach, Ola Beach Club is where you’d want to be if you want to have a relaxing day at the beach with friends and food. It’s also a water sports centre, so have a go at kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, or being towed by a speedboat while sitting in a donut float.

4. The Punggol Settlement
Overlooking Punggol Point Jetty, The Punggol Settlement is a two-storey building that overlooks the straits of Johor. In fact, squint hard enough and you might be able to see Johor Bahru in the distance!
This seafront dining destination houses over 10 dining options, including the famed White Restaurant, Siam Square Mookata, Izakaya 95 and even House of Seafood. Pick your fancy and pair it with a pint of ice-cold beer, and your Friday night plans are complete.
For the best views of the sea, we suggest dining al fresco at a restaurant that’s on the second floor of the building.

5. Bali on the Cove
Bali on the Cove was started with one intention: to recreate the Bali experience. A boutique and restaurant, Bali on the Cove sources everything in the boutique directly from artisanal locals in Bali, such as brass lighting, cushion covers, traditional carvings and more.
Whether you’re looking to get some work done at its co-working space or bringing along your furry pet for a weekend getaway, Bali on the Cove’s stunning views of the Sentosa marina will instantly put you in a good mood. For brunch, try its Bali Granola (S$20) or Lobster Mayo Croissant (S$16), and finish it off with a glass of good ol’ Long Island Iced Tea (S$19).

6. Whisk & Paddle
To some, the Punggol Serangoon Reservoir is more of a river than a reservoir. This snaking water body is 8km long and starts off as a canal near Tampines Road, bypassing Hougang and Sengkang, before emptying out at the Serangoon Harbour. You’ll find Whisk & Paddle along the reservoir, a riverside cafe serving all-day breakfasts and hearty meals.
Order a hand-stretched thin crust pizza to share with friends, such as the Margherita (S$17.80) or Sambal Seafood (S$22.80) and for mains, go for the Nanban Chicken Waffle (S$25.80) or Classic Beef Burger (S$26.80). Don’t forget to try its Matcha & Rose Latte (S$6.50), which uses pure Japanese matcha powder.
