Have you ever wondered which dog breeds are the naughtiest? Well, new research has identified the most mischievous mutts causing havoc at home – and the fluffy white Japanese Spitz has topped the list.

The team at Protect My Paws analyzed 87,886 Instagram posts, calculating the proportion of #gooddog and #baddog hashtags for each breed. While every pup can be cheeky at times, their study found that certain breeds are more likely to be naughty than others — including the Shichon, Cockapoo and Welsh Terrier.

"If being affectionate is a crime, the snowball known as the Spitz is going straight to the doghouse," say the team at Protect My Paws. "Couple this lack of respect for your personal space with a mischievous sense of humor, and you can expect to be clambered over, interrupted, snuzzled, and maliciously cuddled."
