"The Angry Birds Movie" sequel adds more stars to Bird Island.

23 Apr – "The Angry Birds Movie" is set to bring back the original cast members and has also added more star power to its lineup of its inevitable sequel.

Rovio Animation, the production company behind the movie, has announced in a press release that Leslie Jones ("Ghostbusters") , Rachel Bloom ("Crazy Ex-Girlfriend"), Sterling K. Brown ("Black Panther"), Eugenio Derbez ("How To Be A Latin Lover"), Zach Woods ("The Office"), Awkwafina ("Crazy Rich Asians"), Lil Rel Howery ("Get Out"), Dove Cameron ("Descendants"), Beck Bennett ("Saturday Night Live"), and Brooklynn Prince ("The Florida Project") have all signed on to roles for the family-friendly animation.


Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Bill Hader, Danny McBride, and Peter Dinklage will also return to reprise their roles in the movie.

"I'm thrilled about our incredibly talented filmmaking team and the hilarious people we've brought together for the sequel," producer John Cohen said.

The sequel is set for a 20 September 2019 release date with Thurop Van Orman and John Rice helming the director's chair.

The first movie was released in 2016 and had collected around USD 352 million worldwide.
