With the news that HGTV's Fixer Upper is coming to an end after 5 seasons, and we're all wiping tears from our eyes with a piece of shiplap. In honor of the Gaines' empire, let us look back at some of their most glorious makeovers - so many tile splashes! - and dream about a better day.

1. Blake and Kimberly needed a comfortable place to call home after a long day working at their local coffeeshop. Unfortunately, their house was a real shit show, especially the kitchen. Fortunately, Chip and Joanna were ready to werk, werk, werk, werk.

2. It's everyone's favorite episode, the barndomenium! I don't think there's any exterior transformation that's as impressive as the barndomenium. I think this episode made everyone in America want a barndomenium, and I don't think we should fight it.

3. The bathroom in the "faceless bunker" house was dour and depression, and so Chip and Jo gave the owners the beach vibe they wanted. From tres puke to tres chic!

4. Although homeowners Norris and Denitia Blount disagreed on pretty much everything, they knew this kitchen was a straight-up disaster and needed renovation ASAP. Chip and Joanna did not disappoint.

6. Genny and Russ Davis' bathroom is quite possibly the most stunning bathroom makeover ever presented in this life, or any other. I mean, damn.

7. Chip and Joanna really outdid themselves on show producer Michael Matsumoto's house. After all, he moved from L.A. to Waco for the show, so you Chip and Jo had to come correct.

8. Karla, a single divorce with a son, bought this fixer upper mainly because it was right next door to her best friend, not because it was cute. Per usual, Chip and Joanna worked their ~magic~, especially on the kitchen, which is where they really shine.
