SINGAPORE — Zouk has transformed its premises to become a cinema amid the ongoing ban on nightlife outlets in Singapore to operate during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The clubbing institution’s Cinema Club, which opens today, promises to deliver guests an immersive theatrical experience with state-of-the-art lighting and sound-system effects. Zouk calls it “a unique and innovative reemergence strategy to utilise Zouk in a post-pandemic landscape”.

Guests can expect curated bi-monthly themed nights with a roster of films that includes new movie releases and cult classics. For the inaugural screening month, in line with the theme of “For The Love of Music” in October/November, Zouk took inspiration from legendary cabaret Moulin Rouge to create a replica of the famous ‘Red Mill’ and the cobbled streets of late 19th century Montmartre on its dancefloor.

The seating layout features couches and tables for groups of up to five pax, spaced out on the dance floor for social distancing. Films will be screened on a projector screen.

As part of COVID-19 safe distancing precautions, Zouk has put in place various hygiene measures and protocols. Among them, the TraceTogether contact tracing app or token is required for entry to Zouk Cinema Club.

Cinema-goers can choose from a selection of food and beverage options, including Garrett Popcorn as well as a range of special monthly package promotions that include drink options such as Long Island Iced Tea and Moët & Chandon. Packages will come with a welcome snack that is available only in October and November. See the table below for the package details.
