Zhou Dongyu smiles at being called "Little Zhou Xun"
25 Mar - Zhou Dongyu couldn't help but laugh with glee when she was compared to her senior and top star, Zhou Xun.
As reported on Epoch Times, the actress, who appeared at the promotional event for her new movie, "A Nail Clipper Romance", acknowledged that there was a similar short film starring Zhou Xun that was released a few years ago.
"Actually, I feel lucky to have such a connection with her, since I am a big fan of her work," said the actress.
Back in 2010, Zhou Xun played similar character in Pang Ho Cheung's horror online movie of the same name, which was directed by Derek Tsang. Coincidentally, Zhou Dongyu also worked with Derek in the award-winning movie, "Soul Mate".
Similarly, the new romance movie is also produced by Pang Ho Cheung.
When mentioned that she has been given the nickname, "Little Zhou Xun", the actress responded jokingly, "Do you mean I have eyes that big?"
"I have always felt that she looks really good. She has an aura. I have no aura, I don't know," she added.
"A Nail Clipper Romance" revolves around a woman named Emily, a special kind of human who only eats nail clippers. Although she has been living a normal life, Emily finds herself in a dilemma when it comes to telling the truth about herself to her boyfriend.
The movie co-stars Taiwanese actor, Joseph Chang.
