Zhang Ziyi's skincare company to produce face masks

12 Feb – With the demand of medical-grade face masks in the market getting higher and higher following the outbreak of the Coronavirus, it was reported that Zhang Ziyi's company is set to produce the product for public consumption.

As reported on Seehua, the company Shenzhen Meili Zeguang Biological Technology will reportedly be producing not only face masks, but also infrared thermometers, as well as disinfectants - a decision that came soon after Zhang expressed her sadness over the death of Dr. Li Wenliang - one of the eight whistleblowers who first warned the public of a new virus now known as the 2019-NCoV.

Established in 2015, the company was formed by Zhang as the vice chairperson and the fourth largest shareholder. It was originally set up to focus on beauty and skincare. Since the outbreak, more than 700 companies, including Zhang's, have decided to add face masks as one of its new products to cope with the current shortage.

On the other hand, it was reported that Zhang has recently returned to Beijing after spending several months in the United States to give birth to her second child.
