Zero's Sharif says sorry for sharing about brother Atu's dark past in a podcast

19 Dec – Comedian Sharif of the trio Zero recently said that he is apologetic for sharing his brother Atu's past history on a recent podcast interview without the latter's consent.

The comedian, real name Sharif Kadir Doli, said that the reason he decided to talk about Atu's experience with drug abuse and homelessness wasn't intended to humiliate him but to inspire others who may be in the same situation.

"I won't blame him if he thinks that's humiliating to him because he has the right to think so. I am sorry if that's the case... I am very proud of who he is now," he said.

Asked if everything is well with Atu, Sharif said that they are still in contact with one another.

"After the podcast went viral, we still talk to each other. We have been on a podcast together before and it was fine. But this time, he wasn't there. That's why the misunderstanding occurred," he said.

It was last week that Atu expressed his discomfort at Sharif sharing stories about his dark past to the public.
