Zendaya on red carpet make-up: 'It's a matter of trial-and-error'

Zendaya has described the process of perfecting her make-up looks as a matter of "trial-and-error".

The Spider-Man: Far from Home actress is well-known for her flawless style at film premieres and fashion shows. However, Zendaya has now divulged that she's tried plenty of different looks - and products - to nail her ideal make-up.

"It's really about trying, failing, and trying again," she told People. "Over time, learning to do my make-up became about taking different techniques, and products, from people I liked and putting them into my Rolodex. Then it was a matter of trial-and-error. I'd go out on the red carpet and later look at photos. Sometimes, I'd be like, 'Ooh, I look like a ghost,' so then I'd fix it the next time around."

Back in February, the Euphoria star landed her role as an ambassador for Lancome, and recently fronted the campaign for the French beauty brand's new fragrance Idole.

Zendaya opened up about her choice to join the iconic company, and fellow Lancome ambassadors such as Julia Roberts, Isabella Rossellini, and Penelope Cruz, and explained that it came down to diversity.

"They've always had a wide range of foundation shades for women of all different skin tones. It was really important to me to align myself with a brand that was already doing that. I didn't want to have to get there and be like, 'Excuse me, but I think you need to do this,'" the 23-year-old shared.

Elsewhere in the interview, Zendaya shared her top tips for flawless skin, and noted she sometimes switches up her skincare products to make them more effective.

"Usually I'll just cleanse, tone, moisturise, and move on. Sometimes it's fun to treat yourself with a little facial before bed," she added.
