Zayn Malik was charged with four counts of harassment against Gigi Hadid and her mom, Yolanda, according to court documents obtained by TMZ (the first outlet to break the news) and in a People exclusive. Zayn pleaded no contest to the charges that resulted from an alleged explosive argument with Yolanda at the Pennsylvania home he shares with Gigi.

During the September 29 confrontation, Zayn allegedly “grabbed [Yolanda] and shoved her into a dresser, causing mental anguish and physical pain.” A source told People that Zayn “didn’t slap Yolanda” but that he did have “an aggressive hold” on her.

Zayn denied “striking” Yolanda, telling TMZ directly, “I adamantly deny striking Yolanda Hadid and for the sake of my daughter I decline to give any further details and I hope that Yolanda will reconsider her false allegations and move toward healing these family issues in private.”

The court documents also say that Zayn reportedly lobbed multiple insults and “continuous” curse words at Yolanda, allegedly calling her a “f*cking Dutch slut” and telling her to “stay away from [his] f*cking daughter.”

Some of the other charges Zayn faced were against Gigi, who was out of town in Paris during the dispute, according to TMZ. However, based on the documents, Zayn allegedly called her and yelled, “Strap on some f*cking balls and defend your partner against your f*cking mother in my house.”

It has been confirmed by multiple sources that Gigi and Zayn have since broken up. Neither one of them has spoken about the split themselves yet.

A security guard was also on the scene at the time of the dispute between Zayn and Yolanda. The court documents allege that Zayn tried to “physically engage in a fight…while continually cursing at him” and that Zayn reportedly yelled, “Get the f*ck out of my f*cking house, copper.”

Zayn was ordered to serve 90 days probation for each charge, resulting in more than a year’s worth of probation, at 360 days total. There’s a chance Zayn could end his probation early, though, if he goes six months without any violations. Additionally, the singer must complete both an anger management course and a domestic violence program. He is also fully restricted from having any sort of contact with Yolanda and the security guard.

Today’s celeb news cycle got a wee bit chaotic after certified lover boy Zayn Malik took to Twitter seemingly to acknowledge some pretty hefty accusations from Yolanda Hadid, the mother of his longtime girlfriend, Gigi Hadid. According to TMZ, Yolanda said Zayn “struck” her and that she intended to take the matter to authorities.

Zayn posted a lengthy statement to the site via the iPhone Notes app on the matter. It reads:

“As you all know I am a private person and I very much want to create a safe and private space for my daughter to grow up in. A place where private family matters aren’t thrown on the world stage for all to poke and pick apart. In an effort to protect that space for her, I agreed to not contest claims arising from an argument I had with a family member of my partner’s who entered our home while my partner was away several weeks ago. This was and still should be a private matter but it seems for now there is divisiveness and despite my efforts to restore us to a peaceful family environment that will allow for me to co-parent my daughter in a manner in which she deserves, this has been ‘leaked’ to the press. I am hopeful though for healing for all involved with the harsh words shared and more importantly I remain vigilant to protect Khai and giver her the privacy she deserves.”

After posting his statement to Twitter, Zayn told TMZ, “I adamantly deny striking Yolanda Hadid and for the sake of my daughter I decline to give any further details and I hope that Yolanda will reconsider her false allegations and move toward healing these family issues in private.”

Gigi’s rep spoke to E! News on the supermodel’s behalf regarding all the family drama. “Gigi is solely focused on the best for Khai,” said the rep. “She asks for privacy during this time.”

A few weeks ago, pop culture account Deuxmoi posted on Instagram a very coy tip that “a certain singer and model who welcomed a child recently broke up.” While the note was extremely vague, now fans are left wondering if—given the drama with Yolanda—it might be about Gigi and Zayn. Again, we’re all speculating at this point, and neither Zayn nor Gigi has commented on the status of their relationship. We’ll keep you updated on this situation as we learn more.
