Zanjoe Marudo nominated for International Emmy

2 Oct - It was revealed that actor Zanjoe Marudo has been nominated at the upcoming 45th International Emmy Awards.

As reported on Sunstar, the actor will be competing in the Best Performance by an Actor category for his work on the previous "Maalaala Mo Kaya" episode "Anino".

In it, he played Victor, a family man whose kindness was taken advantage of by a group of strangers, causing him to become depressed later on.

Marudo will be competing against other international stars including French actor Ked Merad ("Baron Noir"), and British star Kenneth Branagh ("Wallander").

Last year, it was actress Jodi Sta. Maria who was nominated for her role as Amor Powers in "Pangako Sa 'Yo", but lost to German actress, Christiane Paul ("Unterm Radar").

The upcoming 45th International Emmy Awards will take place on 20 November in New York City.
