Zanilia Zhao's studio account temporarily banned by Weibo
26 Aug – It looks like Chinese stars are responsible for their fans' behaviour now, after it was revealed that Zanilia Zhao's studio is now being temporarily blocked on Weibo because of such misbehaviour.
As reported on Oriental Daily, the said account cannot be used temporarily after it was found that some of her more avid fans have been calling for a boycott against any collaboration between the actress and her "Legend of Fei" co-star Wang Yibo.
This comes after it was rumoured that Zanilia (also known as Zhao Liying) and Wang will be working with each other again in the new modern drama, "Wild Bloom".
The campaign had since sparked a fan war between Zanilia's fandom and Wang's own army of supporters - prompting Weibo to 'punish' the actress' studio for not stopping them soon enough, while several other fans' accounts involved in the online war were permanently banned.
In response to the issue, the actress' studio recently released a statement that read, "As an actor, it is fate to be given a favourite role; to interpret a role well is to learn and grow. As an actor studio, our duty is to do our best to deal with the actors. I hope that in this process, we can trust each other and get the best results in the best possible time."
It is noted that there had been no official announcement as to whether or not Zanilia and Wang will indeed be working together.
