Zack Snyder reveals new Wonder Woman image in Justice League

Arguably DC fans are most excited to see how the upcoming ‘Wonder Woman’ turns, hoping it’ll be the turning point where the studio can begin to compete with Marvel for big screen prowess.

While ‘Wonder Woman’ is in cinemas next summer and Patty Jenkins’ production is shaping up nicely, it’s perhaps Zack Snyder’s ‘Justice League’ that looks set to be the film that competes with Marvel’s ‘The Avengers’ series.

With all the buzz around the character, Snyder (who’s directing ‘Justice League’ and is responsible for ‘Man of Steel’ and ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’) has shared a brand new image of Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman on Twitter.

Admittedly the brief glimpse doesn’t offer a whole lot of insight into her part in the film but it is nice to see her standing tall in the forefront with flames and what we’re presuming is a path of carnage and destruction, if Snyder’s track record is anything to go by.

The reveal will surely send fans into a frenzy but also comes as the character turns 75. This week current Wonder Woman Gadot and its former iconic Lynda Carter both appeared at a UN headquarters ceremony in New York where Wonder Woman was named an honorary UN ambassador for the empowerment of women.

Despite this year’s ‘Dawn of Justice’ and ‘Suicide Squad’ performing well at the worldwide box office - they took a solid $873 million and $744 million, respectively - they both received mixed and, n some cases, scathing reviews both critically and from its fan base.

Therefore, there’s a lot of pressure on DC’s upcoming movies - notably ‘Wonder Woman’ and ‘Justice League’ - to not only perform well but to satisfy its audience once and for all, otherwise there may be no way back for the DCEU.

‘Wonder Woman’ is in UK cinemas on 2 June, 2017, with ‘Justice League’ released out on 17 November, 2017.
