Yu Haoming slams comments about his burn injury

25 Sep - Chinese actor Yu Haoming recently lashed out on his social media account, following the negative comments made by some netizens regarding his acting in "Nothing Gold Can Stay".

As reported on Tencent, the actor who took the challenge to play a villain in the drama in order to shed his idol image, was criticised by netizens who stated that he is not convincing enough to play the role.

While some only commented on the performance, others were being excessively mean by joking about the injury he suffered from his previous fire tragedy.

As many still remember, back in 2010, Yu and co-star Selina Jen was badly injured in an explosive accident while filming the series, "I Have a Date with Spring". Although his injuries were not as severe as Selina's, Yu still suffered third-degree burns over 39% of his body.

However, this fact seemed to be funny to some as one netizen commented, "Did Yu Haoming's tongue get burnt as well, for him to not speak well?", while another commented, "I don't think Yu Haoming should make a comeback [as a lead actor]. It's not suitable anymore. He can only play bad guys now."

On 18 September, the actor responded to the comments on his Weibo account, saying, "I am willing to accept all criticisms, but I will never understand the ugliness of a human heart."

The actor also challenged his critics to say that to him face to face and see if he won't "beat them up".

At the same time, fellow colleagues like Sean Zhang and Wang Yuexin defended the actor online, and praised him for his great performance.
