Yanxi Palace's Qin Lan, Lawrence Wong coming to Singapore in Dec for StarHub's Night of Stars
Calling all Story of Yanxi Palace fans – two of the stars from the hit Chinese mega drama are coming to Singapore in December to get up close with fans.
The two are Chinese actress Qin Lan, who plays Empress Fu Cha in the period drama series, and Singaporean actor Lawrence Wong, who plays General Hai Lan Cha.
They will be in Singapore on 22 December for cable TV service StarHub’s Night of Stars event, but they could also be in town even before the actual event.
Yanxi was the biggest hit in China this summer, having recently concluded its 70-episode run on the iQIYI platform with 15 billion total streams. The Qing Dynasty drama is also popular in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Vietnam.
Wong, who left Singapore in 2016 to pursue his acting career in China, has turned into a superstar with his supporting role in the popular TV series.
Wong and Qin are with the same management agency, Wow Star. The two actors are on such good terms that there are rumours that they are dating, though they deny this.
Night of Stars is billed as StarHub’s inaugural gala event, featuring performances from some of the biggest entertainment stars in Asia, including China, Hong Kong, South Korea and Taiwan. A series of meet-and-greets in November and December will lead up to the main event on 22 December.
Other celebrities announced by StarHub as part of the line-up so far are Taiwanese stars – heart-throbs Derek Chang and Jasper Liu, as well as actress Chen Meifeng.
Tickets for Night of Stars are not for available for sale. To win tickets for the show, fans should visit StarHub’s Facebook page and watch out for promotional contests or activities.
The full artiste line-up will be announced in the coming weeks, said StarHub.
