Yang Mi's middle man is suing her for defamation

19 Apr - Li Meng, the man at the centre of Yang Mi's donation controversy, is suing the actress for damaging his reputation.

As reported on Phoenix, Li released a statement online, saying that he has hired the legal assistance of Huatai Lawfirm to formally file a lawsuit against Jaywalk Studios for defamation.

"The court has already officially accepted the case and we are now waiting for the hearing. [...] I believe the law will be fair and just." he added.

He also demanded for the actress to make a public apology and pay compensation for damaging his reputation.

In response, Yang Mi's rep stated that their lawyer are taking steps to deal with the matter.

The issue between Yang Mi and Li Meng sparked last month, after it was found that her previous promise to donate to the Chengdu School for the Blind following her involvement in the movie "The Witness" didn't follow through.

She later responded to the controversy saying that her studio was not aware that there was no donation made since they went through a middle man, i.e. Li Meng, who worked with them in 2013 for a similar donation.
