Wyn Marquez: My father told me smart is better than beautiful
13 Jun – If there is one good piece of advice Joey Marquez has given his daughter, it would be to put emphasis on brain rather than beauty.
As reported on GMA News, actress Teresita "Wyn" Marquez recently revealed that her father always reminded her that being smart is better than having good looks.
"You know, there are so many beauties in showbiz, so it's hard not to be insecure. But if you know what you are doing, you are smart with your decisions, and you're comfortable in your own skin, [then it doesn't matter]," she said.
Marquez stated that looks don't matter when one is smart, which is why she would rather be the latter than being known for the former.
The actress also stressed that her father is very wise, realistic, and very practical when it comes to decision-making.
"He taught me to be practical and to invest on things that I can use. For example, a bag is still a bag. So, why would you buy a really expensive bag that you can't really afford? If another bag costs less and you're going to put the same things in it, why not purchase that instead, right?" she said.
