7 Aug – It was reported that Chinese actor-producer Wu Jing is set to work with the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China to produce a new nationalist film, "Jin Gang Chuan".

As reported on Epoch Times, the actor, known for "Wolf Warrior" and its hit sequel "Wolf Warrior 2", allegedly has invested around RMB70 million into the project that will also be co-sponsored by the CCP.

The upcoming film, which will be directed by Guan Hu (of the patriotic film "The Eight Hundred"), reportedly has started shooting in Dandong in Liaoning province, with netizens sharing photos of the actor on location where military vehicles were seen coming and going.

According to sources, the CCP wanted the new movie to be released on 25 October, in time for the 70th anniversary of the Chinese People's Volunteer Army's participation in the Korean War (1950-53) against the US.

The news came amid the increasing containment measures imposed by the US against China in its trade war.
