Wu Jing denies stealing from "X-Men: First Class" for movie

22 May - Chinese actor-director Wu Jing recently addressed reports of his new movie stealing a shot from a Hollywood production, saying that it was just an innocent mistake.

As reported on Tencent, the actor's directorial effort, "Wolf Warriors 2" recently released its official international trailer to the public. However, instead of wowing the viewers with its action-packed scenes, many noticed that one of the shots, of hundreds of missiles shooting across the ocean, looked eerily familiar.

Netizens then pointed out that the scene was actually taken from the Hollywood movie, "X-Men: First Class", and slammed the production for stealing from another movie.

Wu Jing had since responded to the allegations on his official Weibo account, saying that the scene from the Hollywood movie was used as a reference for their own special effects.

However, instead of using the one they made, the staff mistakenly included the said shot into the finished product.

"At present, we are actively communicating with various media platforms to replace the released trailer with the correct version," wrote Wu, who also shared a clip of the actual scene that was supposed to be included in the trailer.

He also expressed his sincerest apology to all the fans for the misunderstanding and expressed their gratitude for the support.

The upcoming movie is set to be released in July.
