2 Jan – Crisanto Aquino, director of the Metro Manila Film Festival entry "Write About Love", still cannot believe that the film bagged eight accolades at the recently held MMFF Gabi ng Parangal – making it the second big winner behind "Mindanao", which won eleven.
As reported on ABS-CBN, the filmmaker, who spoke about the film's success at the said festival, admitted that it was like a dream to him as he didn't expect anything coming to the event.
"The MMFF line-up was great and I was envious of the competition. I was not [even ready for a speech]," he said.
Aquino expressed his gratitude to TBA Studios for their trust in him, as well as the jurors who gave the film its recognition.
"I'm happy for Yeng and Joem, for Miles and Rocco, who have been nominated as well... When I heard we were nominated, I was super excited, and the win was a huge surprise and thank you to everyone who helped made this movie with me," he added.
Among the categories won by the movie are Best Screenplay, Best Actor and Actress in Supporting Role (Joem Bascon, Yeng Constantino), and Special Jury Prize for Aquino.
