Wong Jing invests millions in his lead actors

2 Oct - Wong Jing recently joked that he has no more money for food after forking out a huge amount for his new movie, "King of Drug Dealers".

As reported on Mingpao News, the prolific director, who attended the production commencement ceremony of the movie, shared that it has a budget of more than RMB200 million, and that part of it goes into paying its two lead stars, Andy Lau and Donnie Yen.

In addition to using the two biggest names in Hong Kong, Wong also revealed that the production had to build its own Kowloon Walled City and Lai Chi Kok Amusement Park set to capture the spirit of the 1960s.

Filming will also be done around Thailand and mainland China.

When told that Wong has shared about their high salaries, Andy stated that his payment has always been pretty high, but not as high as others.

As for Donnie, who reportedly received RMB30 million to star in the movie, the actor only responded, "It's meaningless to talk about money. Let's not talk about it."
