Wong Cho Lam is confident in his CNY movie

22 Oct – Hong Kong multi-hyphenate Wong Cho Lam is confident that his directorial effort, "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change" will do well at the 2019 Lunar New Year box office.

As reported on Mingpao, the comedian who appeared at a press conference of the upcoming movie recently, shared that he is positive that the movie will have a good reception despite the many competition for the Lunar New Year box office numbers, since it will be the first musical film in Hong Kong in many years.

"Hong Kong has not had a local Cantonese musical film for decades," he said.

When asked if it will be released in mainland China, Wong said, "It will not necessarily be released at the same time. I want to promote it as a Cantonese movie first," he said.

At the same time, Wong also expressed his gratitude to the cast members for their job well done.

"I dare say that it's a sincere, funny movie full of songs and dances. There is a total of 60 guest performers, including Sammi Cheng and Alex Fong," he said.

"I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change" is a movie adaptation of the Off-Broadway musical of the same name.
