Wonder Woman Gets An Official Synopsis As Writers Are Revealed

Warner Bros has finally announced who wrote the script for next summer’s most important superhero movie - and thrown in the first official synopsis to boot.

Director Patty Jenkins finished shooting the film earlier this year from a script written by Allan Heinberg and Geoff Johns, the man now responsible for the direction of Warner Bros and DC Comics’ movie universe.

As for the synopsis, it reads (via Den of Geek): “Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior.

"Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat.

"Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers… and her true destiny.”

Gal Gadot stars as the iconic super-heroine, alongside Chris Pine as Steve Trevor - the pilot who crashes on the shore of Themyscira.

The film also stars Robin Wright, David Thewlis, Connie Nielsen and Lucy Davis.

Writer Allan Heinberg has previously written primarily for TV series’ like ‘Greys Anatomy’ and 'The OC’ while Geoff Johns is the Chief Creative Officer at DC Comics. So, he knows his stuff.

'Wonder Woman’ will be released on 2 June 2017.
