Breaking up is hard to do and more often than not you’re left with the unsatisfactory feeling of not really knowing what went wrong.

‘Did I snore?’ ‘Was my leopard print addiction too much?’ ‘Did I give good chat?’

But one woman has come up with a genius solution to find out how she rated in the dating stakes by asking her exes for feedback via an exit survey.

Just like an exit interview people might fill out after resigning from a job, the brave woman, known only as Katie, has cleverly designed a form she fires off to all her exes to get a constructive critique of her girlfriend-ing skills.

In it she asks questions such as ‘What is wrong with Katie?’, ‘What is wrong with you?’ and ‘At what point did you know this wouldn’t work out?’

She also enquires whether her exes would refer her to a friend and whether they would like to remain on the mailing list in case Katie revisits their application. Lols!

Earlier this week, Katie’s friend Abby shared the survey with the Internet via Twitter: “There’s this girl I know who sends an exit survey to every guy she casually AND seriously dates,” she wrote.

Unsurprisingly, Abby’s tweet has gone down really well with Twitter, with over 20,000 likes and close to 4,000 retweets.

People were also quick to take to the comments to praise Katie for her genius response to break ups.

“This is incredible,” one user wrote.

“This is a work of genius,” another added. “Finally dating has the structure and administrative bureaucracy it has always needed.”

Katie we salute you. We might not be one of your exes but we’d totally recommend you to a friend.

Hope you get that new job/boyfriend soon.
