Back in April, content creator Nicole Ludwig shared a TikTok post about her experience visiting the McDonald’s headquarters in Chicago, which apparently offers McDonald’s menu items from around the globe.
The video displayed some of the international menu options she chose, including the McAloo tiki burger from India, garlic pepper criss-cut fries from China and a double bulgogi burger from South Korea. To top her meal off, she finished with four white chocolate “McPops” from Spain.
And if you’re curious about how much a global McDonald’s meal costs, it appears Ludwig spent well over $30 on treating her taste buds to some internationally inspired sensations.
She also posted individual TikTok reviews of each menu item she bought. She rated the potato-based tiki burger as “not bad” and gave the waffle fries from China a 9 out of 10, declaring them “better than Chick-fil-A waffle fries.”
The real stars of the show, however, were the white chocolate McPops, which Ludwig said are one of her “favorite things of all time.” The McPops from Spain appear to be soft and fluffy donut holes stuffed full of creamy white chocolate.
Ludwig didn’t have much to say about the donuts because she was so busy eating silently in ecstasy, but she did admit that she bought a total of three orders of the McPops because they’re just that good.
You can only buy these international McDonald’s menu options at the Chicago headquarters, and from the looks of Ludwig’s video, anyone can simply walk in and order from the touchscreen, so it’s easily accessible.
However, many commenters warned that when they tried to visit, a lot of the menu options — especially those tasty McPops treats — were frequently sold out.
“Every time I go to Chicago I go here and everything is ALWAYS sold out, it’s always so disappointing,” wrote one commenter.
“Be prepared to be sad lol,” added another, who also has found their desired snack options out of stock.
Even Ludwig herself admitted that whenever she visits the Chicago-based McDonald’s headquarters, the McPops are usually out of stock. She said this was the first time she’d been able to score the McPops in years.
Another commenter chimed in that the McDonald’s headquarters frequently adds new menu options, so it might still be worth stopping in and seeing what’s available if you happen to be in Chicago.
All Ludwig’s TikTok videos feature a mouth-watering array of different foods and the TikToker does not discriminate in her food choices. She’s just as likely to post her fave Taco Bell order as she is international cuisine, and that’s part of her appeal. Even the best foodies can’t escape the allure of that 3 a.m. Taco Bell drive-thru line.
Interestingly enough, Ludwig is not just a random TikToker posting about food and McDonald’s. According to her LinkedIn profile, which she’s linked out to on her TikTok page, Ludwig is actually a proud former employee of the Golden Arches.
Clearly, this is a woman who knows what she’s doing when it comes to food and specialty fast food items.
