Woman Arrested After Having Brother's Baby
Florida police have arrested a 33-year-old woman who they believe had a baby with her brother.
According to The Miami Herald, police confronted Pauline Martin in the McDonald's where she worked, and she admitted to being in a romantic sexual relationship with her brother.
A police report by the Lake County Sheriff's Office says Martin told officers that she was ending the five-year sexual sibling relationship “because she knows it is wrong and she’s talking to another man.” However, when asked when the last time she had sex with her brother, she responded that it was the night before.
The report also indicated that Martin gave birth to their baby together in November 2017. The child reportedly had "several medical problems" and was given a genetic test which showed the mother and father were closely related.
After confessing to police about the relationship, Martin attempted to flee the McDonald's and evade arrest. Police said she kicked a deputy in the leg, leading to an additional charge of obstructing arrest to the charge of incest.
Martin posted $3,000 bond Saturday, and the man believed to be the father has no record of an arrest.
